Remember how they bitched and moaned about how we cheated by signing Van Der Vaart after the transfer window had shut, in spite of...
a.) We confirmed VDV's signing with time to spare
b.) The previous season saw them loan in Marton Fulop months after the transfer window closed

Thanks for this gentlemen. I'd thought perhaps Chris C might have stopped with his updates given the refusal of Spurs to allow him to join one of the recent test events.

His videos are so popular on YouTube. Would make no sense for him to stop.

    Coincidentally, a midweek special.

The club shop, museum and Warmington House are looking very sharp. I wasn't sure about the black claddding to begin with but really like it now. Maybe the stadoium should have been clad in black too?

The black cladding looks impressive over the shop. Not sure if it would have worked having the whole stadium cladded in black.

It does concern me that there appears to be so much more work to complete the stadium. I'm aware matches will be played during some building works, but part of me just wonder whether Levy ought to have accepted an extra season at Wembley.

The atmosphere in the last 3 games at Wembley last season was poor and attendances started to drop after the losses in the FA Cup and CL. If there had been an acceptance of 2 years from the outset, maybe people would have accepted it? I don't know but there was little appetite for it that I could see.

Still, we are where we are. It's up to us to prove that we are behind the club and front up and back the club, team and manager. The tougher it gets, the more we need to support our boys. Let's aim to break attendance records and make the best of what we've got, no matter what happens. That's what supporting your team is all about. COYS.

The time it takes to carry out work tends to expand towards the time available. Had Levy decided on a two year time scale, there would not be so many workers on site, and certainly not the same amount of overtime being worked. We would have probably reached the two years still with plenty to do and perhaps even still being late. Trust Daniel, he is no fool, he knows what he is doing.

    From the BBC Gossip...

Tottenham face spending the entire Premier League season at Wembley as the club take up an option with the FA to extend their national stadium stay until December. (Daily Mail)

Has anyone mentioned that the season doesn't end in December?

Following on from The Mail article, a poster on SSC has raised a very good issue. There's a limit on the number of full capacity games that we can play there unless the Council vote to grant additional ones, as they did last season. It's estimated that with international games, cup finals and semi's, play offs, NFL and 2 Anthony Joshuah fights, there are 6 such slots left. So that's Fulham, Liverpool, Barcelona and 3 others (probably Citeh, Inter and 1 other - maybe Chelsea?).

Unless, we can get the council to vote for more, or we buy some international slots at enormous cost, we're going to be playing with the top tier closed. I remember posting details from the council meeting 2 years ago and there was very little appetite from most residents for us being there at all and the council's reasoning in granting permission was "It's only for one season". I can't see many councillors supporting a second one at full capacity. It would amount to political suicide. It will have been one of the many reasons Chelsea dropped their building plans. Playing there when it's full is one thing. Playing there when it's half empty will just be so much worse.

So, for those who are struggling with the hacks attacking us and are wanting a full season at Wembley, it may be that a rethink is in order? Let's hope for some good news soon.

When do we play the Spammers at home? Sobs Law says that will be our first match and they will get their first points of the 2018/2019 season.

    EDIT:

Just looked it up, scheduled for Saturday 27th April 2019. Might not be such a bad thing if they get their first points then.

I think that if you polled Spurs fans who attend games, most would want to get back to Tottenham asap. I don't remember anybody wanting 2 seasons at Wembley, if it could be avoided. The club went for a possible but difficult completion date and had a contingency plan. I didn't see the problem with that then and I don't see it now. Anyone who believes the club knew months in advance of the problems and did nothing wants their head examining.

If we get to play half a season in our new stadium, how are we worse off than spending the entire season at Wembley? Sure, there's been swapping the Watford game and the likelihood of a game at Milton Keynes. Are there supporters who can't deal with that to watch this team? If so, people need to remember what happened in The Sugar Years under managers like Francis, Gross, etc.

Some people are treating this like it's akin to West Ham selling up their soul and becoming a franchise in an athletic stadium. Ask one of their fans about our new stadium, purpose built for football on the same site as in 1899. They'd give both thumbs for something half as good.

We're close to having probably the best football stadium in the world and a great team to play in it. Those who bitch and moan should *%ck off to Chelsea, Citeh or United, They'll feel right at home. We're delayed by a few months -- let's man up a bit!
