Hendo's position on the pitch is an unglamorous one, but vitally important to us. A recent example was v C.Palace when he came on and just did the
simple things. Receiving, one or two touches and releasing. Always in the right place. When we are being counter attacked in games, it is so often
Hendo that reads the game and gets a foot in, or pushes a player wide or backwards. ( mates that watch games with me get sick of me pointing out
that Hendo breaks up yet another counter) <laugh>. The 'forward pass' thing is urban myth, he often does. And I was pleasantly surprised to read he has
scored 24 goals during his time with us..........that's pretty good for a deep lying midfielder.
I think I agree with most of what you've said. He is and has been pretty solid for us but I wouldn't put him as our best reader of the game and that was my only contention really.

Do you know what the question was though? Saint's right, mito still hasn't answered it.

he can't run. I don't think MITOs committed to anything except that he thinks fabinho will be a failure. Obviously with some tongue in cheek.

He's gone on to say why he doesn't think he'll succeed (easily countered according to MITO but has gone onto say he's good if hes defending in front not running back) but as with any success of a player, it's all subjective and benchmarks.

If you compare him to the likes of alonso, he'll be a massive failure. Compare him to Markovic, if he sits for the rest of his liverpool career he'll be successful.

Ask anyone how good Winja is, you'll probably get a divide from the fan base about how successful and how key he is.

Klopp has asked how long he'll give the guy, whats the even mean? to break into the team? to play decent games (which again is subjective).

Yeah, I suppose every player 'reads' the game in some sense. In the position where Hendo plays I think it is a strong part of his game, age and
experience showing. When we are on the defensive he puts out fires all over the pitch.

You've got me a bit confused now and it doesn't take much these days <laugh> .... so you saying you hadn't seen him play was a joke because he hasn't played a league game yet .... and you did see him in preseason?
Just a joke because of the lack of game time, :)
My bad no ninja or whistles :)

Saw the preseasons but tbh since Voronin i just cant trust pre season lmao
Not forming any opinion till see a few actual games
Wouldnt even trust league cup matches tbh now.

On hendo, always liked him
Utterly convinced he cost us the title getting sent off needlessly against city as he was vital to us that season, but atm i would say he is the one most under threat. Imho he hasnt seemed right since his last injury.

If fab is any good our mid competition for places will get very interesting.

No you didn’t. Saint wants to know if there is a timescale. After 1 game? After 20 games? After 1 full season? How long are we giving him to prove you wrong?

I already said there wasn't. you lot only need see that I am on about.

as i said he will be fine with the game in front if him but he will get in trouble if caught up the pitch cos he won't catch players.

not jard

what a chump.

He's been hawked round everywhere and i believe had 2 offers on tab and wasnt bothered taking either.

We agreed a deal on deadline day with anderlecht which shows exactly how in demand he was.... then the dick expects to be in our 25 man prem squad???

needs a good long look in the mirror.

just wow... i bet he spends the next 3 full months not bothering and will be completely unfit in january and ****s his last chance to move and save his career.

The defensive side of his game is excellent. I doubt anybody can find much fault with him when he hasn't got the ball, but is either pressuring and opponent or sweeping up, stopping a counter.

I reckon most of the frustration comes from when he has the ball and he comes under any degree of pressure he looks uncomfortable and passes it straight back to the CB or the keeper. On the other hand though he rarely looses the ball and us dus definitely a safety first approach, which is probably a good thing from your number 6.

It can be frustrating to watch though.

That's exactly what he's not "committed" to. He's stood everything but that <laugh>

I've never said whats in bold..

go find it.

I've clarified it about 10 times. even in english! You've even said what i've identified.

Precisely why people need a comparison, timefrmae or benchmark I don't know. football doesn't work this way.

It's clear what i've said. I don't care about the rest.

Eventually people will spot this and go oh right... yeah... thats all.

It wasn't explicit that he would be a failure .but if he can't run or he can't defend when being countered as a dm, then unless klopp turns into mourinho he would be a failure (this was before you clarified what he's good at).

Semantics fella. If I say alisson can't stop shots, I haven't called him out as a failure but you can imply it :emoticon-0105-wink:

Agreed you can't put time frames on this. In firms first year he wasn't great now everyone on here wet themselves over the though of firm starting

cos i never said it <ok>

I said what i said about what I've seen personally. It doesn't take long to look at a player and spot ****.
Wriggling again.
You claimed to have "made a call". In my book that means made a prediction of some sort, but in fact you have avoided doing so.
Your self-proclaimed elaboration is no more than observation, and we can all do that.
You may believe that you've seen something that others haven't, or haven't interpreted it in the same way, and that's fair enough - but I asked whether you were saying that he will be an outright failure or will come good after time.

I'm aware that you're just killing time, btw. Anything being better than actual work.

You still work? For some reason i thought you was older (cause of all the old jokes and you like being the elder statemen)
