he can't run..I did say this to guys but they were having none of it. He looks good with game in front of him but if he has to chase back at all he's toast.
I only saw three of the preseason games and he looked alright. I think preseason is played at no more than 50% - 60% in which case we've only seen 50% - 60% of what he's capable of.
I'm pleased to hear the Hendo news, he reads the game better than anyone we have and will be important to us in the coming years. He's only 28 and in his prime. #continuity The club can't be too concerned re. the foot injury, they will know better than anyone.
We’ve tied Hendo for the best years of his career now - he’ll be dictating games for us until he’s 33. New contract allows us to protect his value to help keep the big clubs away unless they put in a mega bid for him.
I think you are right here, however it does not mean he cant be brought up to speed. It will all depend on his attitude. With our recent purchases I am hopeful he can improve.
Not sure about this bit. If he did read the game well he wouldn't do so many back passes especially as we are super fast going forward. Granted every offense isn't a fast break and he does need to hold play up at times but he rarely makes a forward pass these days. I'd like to see him score as well. Gerrard managed it
Which is what my comment referred to. He's only had a preseason with us not played at proper competitive rate/speed/style. If he'd had a league game and looked lost you might have a point. Unless of course you watched all of Monaco's games.
A year is a very long time in football politics ,now that Hendo has signed a new contract everyone is saying good things about him. This time last year it was not so.
You've got me a bit confused now and it doesn't take much these days .... so you saying you hadn't seen him play was a joke because he hasn't played a league game yet .... and you did see him in preseason?
I haven't seen him play pre season. But I'm guessing on what others are saying, he is being brought in slowly as he is either seriously unfit for our pressing game or struggling with pace of prem.
Not many players would come in straight and play in the premiership as Alonso, Suarez and of recent Keita did. It takes time to jel in.
He was unremarkable in preseason but it was only preseason. On the other hand Keita looked impressive in preseason and continues to do so. Klopp has said Fabinho's not up to speed yet for the PL. It could be a fitness issue or not ready in general, who knows. I think we have to trust Klopp on this ......... not mito
