Well 5 matches in and i think i can safely say West ham are over their little blip and we have quickly aclimatised to life in the championship and with the signings we made yesterday it can only strengthen our plight to get back to the prem, We are probably odds on now to go back up this season and so we should be, we have by far the best squad in this division and if we can get over the slight problem of all the other teams (as proved by leeds last week) treating us as their cup final i can see us breaking all records.
As for you lot i will stand by my opinion i made at the start of the season, I think KJ is an excellant manager but you squad just aint good enough so it will be bottom half for you lot, just above relegation.

    All the best

There's a long way to go yet mate - and I think there are much stiffer tests for you to come - starting on the 17th September...we had our wake up call against Barnsley last weekend and have got a 'warm up' game coming up against Birmingham on the 11th - after that you have the joy of coming down to a 'sold-out' Den....prepare to be humiliated!!!

Get a grip you east London Rag-head!! You get a couple of decent results and you think you are already up. This season is gonna be long and hard and once it gets to November time, then you can start making serious assumptions. Cant tar you all with the same brush though, as Cockney comes on here and seems level headed enough not to think it is a walk in the park.

You are favourites to win the league and are odds on to get promoted. In other words if you don't finish top 2 you have failed.

    No pressure lads <ok>

Its still too early to say how this season is going to go Brooking, it won't be a walk in the park thats for sure. Looking at squads West Ham and Leicester are the ones that stand out, what remains to be seen is do these teams have too many big time charlies and not enough team players?, i would say yes but we will have to see about that.
My money is on Middlesbrough this season, so provided the big spenders go to form that leaves one having to go through the lottery of the play-offs:grin:.
I see West Ham have a 100% away record, that should be broken in a couple of weeks time:1980_boogie_down:, unfortunately you'll have plenty of time to recover and should run Leicester close to that second spot.

Your arrogance is quite remarkable - no doubt you were too good to be relegated <yawn> Leeds last season had a decent squad and looked like they couldn't lose but the cliche 'it's a funny old game' could come to bite you on the behind. <ok>

Signing Lansbury from Arsenal was a good move - very decent player in this division.

There is no doubt that the shammers have brought in some quality so fat Sam's biggest problem now will be managing all the egos wanting and thinking they have a god given right to start as well as the the same problem with a reduced subs bench. <ok>

The problem they have, apart from the egos, is IF they don't go up this year and the parachute money is depleted they will find a lot leaving too as I guess some are there based on the assumption that promotion is going to happen this year. Would love the smile wiped of Sam's face though <ok>

The parachute payments, which totals a whopping 48M are split over 4 seasons Ulster.
    16M first season, 16M 2nd season, 8M 3rd season and 8M 4th season.

Its created a two tier system now since it was changed as it used to be over two seasons before, £16m the first season & £12m the second. That's the reason why Pardew was under such massive pressure to get the shammers up the second season when they were last down in the Championship as I remember reports said that they would have gone into administration otherwise by October later that year the next season - shame! <whistle>
