Only thing frustrating about this game was trying to force the issue when we were 1 nil up. All that was required was simple passing knowing we are a goal up. Brighton needed the next goal more than we did.
All we needed to do is pass it around and dare them to come of their defensive shape. Unfortunately all I saw was a team trying too hard to get a second goal.

That said, 3 points and top of the league bitches!!!! Not much to complain about result wise. Last season we were even more shakey and came through with some brilliant performances so nothing to worry about for now other than Beckers cockiness

Funny how people see games differently... I felt like we were happy to play keep ball and take the 1-0 as they were sitting in.

I wanted us to go for more.
I'm so used to us throwing it at the end there'll have to be a lot more games where we see out a slender lead efficiently before I'll stop crapping myself in the last 20 minutes.

Especially at home.

It's good to see a calm head like VVD taking control and keeping us focused but he annoyed me with his 'slow it down' hand gestures. **** that, they were on the ropes, go for the ****ing throat!!!

That was a bit too close for my liking but another 3 points and a clean sheet without getting into second gear. It won’t be long until it all clicks.

Not many positives today - I thought Gini was excellent again, VVD and Gomez are developing a nice partnership, full backs were tidy.

Midfield is still concerning though. The second half was dreadful and we just couldn’t get control of the game. In the latter stages, I really wanted us to pass Brighton to death and kill the game.

Not a vintage performance but 3 points is all that matters.

Oh, and Alisson is a don. He’s gonna take risks so get used to it. We need players to take risks so we can enjoy the rewards. It was similar situation when Keita did that turn against palace which almost led to a goal.

This team is nicely filling out with real confident ball players.

I don't mind Aliisson taking risk as long as he is caught out. My blood pressure rises whenever I see this type of things, is like Moreno defending
in our penalty area.

well we have moaned for ages lol that we just need to grind results out and get 3pts and we have done that.

performances will obviously/hopefully improve as season goes on.

for now 3pts on the board is all that matters.

Becker had a good game. He is actually quite decent at coming for crosses. He will get caught out by a striker who will call his bluff though.

As for us in general, 3rd game and we still can't pass properly and our shooting was all over the place. Hopefully we just need the games

On another day Mane's shot is on target, Firmino's header isn't saved, TAA's free kick dips a bit more, we get the [HASHTAG]#nailedon[/HASHTAG] penalty for wiping out Firmino in the box

IMO it was closer to being 5-0 than it was being 1-1
