There's me thinking logically and assuming that if you didn't turn up for work you didn't get paid <doh>. Footballs a joke!

Can’t fine them continually for the one original offence. As they get paid weekly , each week should be an offence. But as has been said , this is footballers law , not any type of employment law

Surely they are recommitting the offence multiple times so can be fined for each offenc

Bri, Stewart Donald said in one of his tweets that we were not paying them but we would hold their registration because of the money we still owe on them. He repeated it on the RR podcast and added that it was in the hands of our lawyers. The way he said it, I took it to mean they were trying to recover the money that we still owe on them to the clubs we bought them from.

After seeing this comment, I went searching...

Donald has operated with a no-nonsense attitude in the transfer market thus far and has now confirmed that Sunderland are NOT paying the defender’s wages.

He also revealed that Djilobodji has formally requested not to return to the club as he tries to find a move away.

Speaking on his personal Twitter account, Donald said: “he has requested not to come back – no we are not paying his wages.”

Our owners have said from day one... We can afford to keep ONE of our high earners. So... If we manage to off load them all... I'm hoping we can afford to keep Oviedo!

Yeah he’s the key. So next level to where we are. Cattermole has looked good at this level too so far. But Oviedo is the diamond

You would have thought that their agent's would be advising them of the potential negative consequences of their actions. Being willfully absent from the Club is an extremely poor advertisement of their attitude to the game, as well as being disrespectful to the fans; who would want them with that record?

Hopefully their money will drain away, with no reputable club touching them with a barge-pole; it would be a travesty if they get away with this. fek 'em, the greedy barstewards. KTF

Its their agents who are almost certainly telling them to stay away.

    Hannover confirm interest in Djilobodji
Despite chasing the signing of Norwich City defender Timm Klose, Hannover 96 remain interested in Sunderland’s AWOL defender Papy Djilobodji.

The German club’s president Martin Kind confirmed that they have been in discussions regarding the signings of both players, but said that nothing will happen before Saturday’s game at Werder Bremen:

It’s open between the two of them, there are discussions but no commitment yet. There will probably be nothing before the Bremen game.

The Bundesliga side are not the only team tracking Djilobodji, with Turkish outfit Trabzonspor again being linked with a move for the Senegalese international.

In fact, according to reports in Turkey, Trabzonspor and the player have agreed terms and all that’s left is for the Burgundy Blues to find an agreement with Sunderland.

I think a lot of these agents became agents because of the money they could make for themselves, not for the welfare of the player, or their knowledge of football

Papy Djilobodji could be set for an exit from Sunderland - after talks were confirmed to be ongoing about a deal. The ex-Chelsea defender has been AWOL from the Academy of Light during pre-season and is currently not being paid by the club.

From the Sunderland Echo. I'm confused. Have both parties agreed to this then?

Issue with these two is we’re probably still paying their transfer fees in installements so we can’t just let them go for nothing.

The problem being, if there was something wrong with the car & nobody had seen it in motion for ages, then the price isn't going to be good. Meanwhile the insurance and tax keep rolling in.
There's comes a time when you have to take said car to the quarry, and push the bad boy over the edge. Its the only way........
