Please tell me who all these banned for life characters are .... as I have obviously been missing out.
I'm afraid I don't remember our conversation but I don't doubt that it happened ..... as it would be lovely if we could figure out a nice simple solution for banning that everyone was happy with.
3 speeding tickets & a piss in the street wouldn't even be brought to a super-mods attention .... or if it was it would be laughed at.
How would you like us to explain why people are banned without breaking the confidential aspect of reports & complaints ?

It’s quite self explanatory though WJ

Most normal people know where the line is drawn and what would constitute crossing that line without having to be spoon fed that information

It’s not rocket science, if a poster continues to act like a twat (attention seeking) even after receiving several warnings then a ban is inevitable

Don’t think there’s any need for us to be issued with a ‘disciplinary procedure’

The more I think about it all the more I have to agree with Forza. I know stealing from a shop is wrong, I don’t know where it changes from a smack on the hand to something more serious but I don’t care as it will never effect me. I’d only need to know the finer detail if I planned on stealing.

I’m not suggesting WJ is planning on forum disruption but I’d be gobsmacked and amazed if a single member we had now were to be banned. There have been a few heated exchanges since Glory was banned but its genuine emotion and I think we can all see that.

I think that’s where the line is drawn, genuine emotion being vented from time to time or as Forza put it, seeking attention in a negative and controversial manner then ignoring the warnings, remember Glory had been banned before by the Supermods and Elland and Bucks fought for his return so he knew how close he was sailing to the wind.

    Please remember as well, Glory has been in touch and said;
“I fully accept a ban for content related issues”.

But... I don’t want to start going over old ground about Glory, the question is, do we need a set of Guidelines or rules? My three concerns would be...

    1) It would need to be site wide, you couldn’t implement it for just one sub forum.
    2) You could be as nasty as you like and to avoid a ‘strike’ claim it was bait/joke
    3) Miss a misdemeanour and would it be called favouritism, one persons interpretation of an act of bullying might not be another persons.

I think going forward, it might be an idea for the supermods to have a Google Mail account. Then when banning anyone who was a regular poster they could consider including the email address if the person wanted their side to be heard.

They don’t really need a reason included, they can still access the forum logged out (I assume?) and as long as the mods of the forum have posted a statement like we did then the person banned can read the reasons for themselves assuming they truly do not know.

Sorry to butt in guys, but FFS is this still going on? I used to enjoy joining in on this board but it's turned into internal whinging rubbish.

Whilst It's as well to remember that behind every username on this board is a real person, it's a fact that people who choose to post on football forums are just a name on a screen to others. I've no idea who Glory is unlike some of you guys but he did have a proclivity to belittle and cause conflict on here. When challenged he didn't like it at all, but then that's the nature of forum anonymity - you can generally get away with murder without fear of retribution.

Whatever you think of your mods or mods in general, they are there to help the forums along and not run it like military police. Forum mod's powers are very limited and rightly so - they only need to tools at their disposal for housekeeping and assistance to their members. Involving supermods is a last resort but sometimes it is necessary for the benefit of a forum in general. That judgement will always be open to the criticism of others who disagree, but you can't have it all ways.

For what it's worth I think Glory had a greater personal need to be on here than the forum needed him. That's a great shame for the guy and as an outsider am genuinely sorry that he is unable to satisfy that need even though he may be unwell at the moment. I'd honestly like to see him back posting but then who the **** am I?

FFS let it go and get on with your excellent multi-topic forum. <ok>

It's not self explanitory though is it!

Glory has posted in the same way ever since he signed up - 50,000 posts later and he is deemed wrong for the board.
I'm sure a few people are glad to see the back of him (the one's that thought it easier to complain about him via snidey PM's than argue their case on the open forum), but the reaction on here over the last week would imply that the majority think his ban was wrong.

Ultimately, the 3 mods decided to ban him, so the kangaroo court remark was definitely correct.
If the vote was between ALL members, and not just the few that disliked him, he'd still be posting today <ok>

    That's a superb post TC.

It's also why they twice had to make up false accusations about Glory having multiple accounts. Unfortunately it just exposed their bias and prejudice.

As brb has now admitted supermods have no way of proving who has set up an account if it's hidden well enough. At best they can make an educated guess based on the posting style and content.

So the first time our mods thought Glory had multiple accounts (he didn't) and brb was more than happy to believe their false information.

Second time it's brb making a false assumption about Glory having set up new accounts (he didn't) and our mods can't wait to issue a further statement containing the false accusation as fact.

The evidence is clear in my eyes that a prejudice exists and therefore the decision to ban Glory was flawed.

Not much point Jammy m8,Glory ATM has other issues more important than here.Lets hope he gets well, moves to Spain, and his biggest problem is deciding whether to go the beach or stay around the pool. Then opens about 20 accounts all over Spain and causes havock.<laugh> The funny thing is they will be looking at every new account for years, wondering.

Sorry chesh but this has never been about glory for me.

Too many things have been posted which indicate an agenda and then a subsequent witchhunt.

Perhaps that is of no concern to others but it's certainly not ok as far as I'm concerned.

Some of the replies given to posters raising concerns have at times been shocking in their blatant disregard for accountability.

I've totally lost count of the number of times that serious and legitimate questions have been avoided and answered in a totally flippant manner.

This all goes back to the weekend before the bans and the rule about keeping match day threads on topic. It would seem a giant hook was dangled in the water to create disruption and controversy. Especially as that rule was immediately relaxed as soon as bans were administered.

That was a good one TC,here's another one,Stoke fans and Police clashed at half time at Preston, when a group of Stoke fans tried to force there way out of the ground, the Police pepper sprayed them and made them go back and watch the game.
On bbc sports news <laugh> not a joke.

50,000 posts suggests the mods were lenient with him then, Leeds60 has no where near that amount of posts and he got banned for posting the way he does
