Reading the reports of the match, the sooner we get a better striker than McBurnie the better. Surely Bony will be better than him.

From the BBC report :

"to present the Swans with a penalty. However, Rudd was equal to McBurnie's weak effort..."

"McBurnie could have extended their lead after Fulton's goal, but he shot tamely at Rudd from the edge of the area"

Anyone know what the official attendance was today ?

We can't just rely on McBurnie, we need a Striker on loan without doubt, need to tip the merrycans upside down, Bony we won't see much of him until October, but he would really be useful at this level...............<ok>

Just got back in - haven’t read any of the previous comments yet so apologies if I’m repeating what’s been said already!

Overall, the boys deserved the win, particularly based on the first 45 minutes. However, we were second-best for long periods in the second-half and a better side than Preston would have made us pay.

The injury to Nordfeldt disrupted any thoughts that Potter may have had pre-match re his ‘planned’ substitutions, but I must admit that Mulder looked a better keeper - and I wonder if his cameo will lead to him being Number One!

Van der Hoorn, for me and my two mates, was Man of the Match, and he was ably supported by Rodon.

Olsson, overall, did ok - but that loose back pass could have (should have) been costly - luckily Mulder was alert to the risk.

Roberts also did ok, but had a tendency to give the ball away.

Fulton did a lot of the ‘unseen’ stuff pretty well, and scored with a neat header.

That said, if Woods is as good as his press, then he, Fer & Celina would be pretty good three some in our midfield.

Asoro, for me, flatters to deceive and gave another ‘curate’s egg’ performance - good in parts!

McKay was another decent performer, whilst Carroll was ok.

McBurnie will undoubtedly score goals at Championship level but he is far from the finished article. His penalty was weak/poor and he had a golden opportunity to wrap things up in the second-half but failed....

Anyway, 2 wins from the opening 2 games was just what the doctor ordered - and the guys in The Coopers were happy after the game!

(In fact, some were happy before the game with “near-dated” Guinness being sold for £1.50 pint <cheers>

A game of two halves! We dominated the first and should have scored a couple. Our midfield went AWOL in the second half as Preston took control and dominated. In the last 10 minutes they battered us.

Having already used one sub in the first half when Nordvelt was subbed, Potters hands were tied as he tried to shore up our midfield with substitutions.

A draw would have been a fair result, but I'm more than happy for another three points in the bank. It was obvious for all to see that reinforcements are required and no doubt the Clubs owners will be busy recruiting as we speak...…………….

Yes here you are, but I'm sure you already know it. Swans' won 1-0. Next question.

I’m all for contrasting views but don’t you think that this squad (as good as they’ve been) deserves a little investment? It’s not as if we’re expecting big players but anyone can see that we’re very thin and unbalanced squad wise.

Currently most fans will be content with 1 CB, 1 CDM and 1 striker that are capable at this level at a minimum. Given the players that we’ve sold it’s not a huge ask.

However, I’d like to see us get rid of Luciano Narsingh as I do think he’s expendable. Nothing against him but it seems that GP doesn’t rate him and he’s not going to want to rot on a championship bench.

I was at the game and Bony could only dream of having the work rate of Mcburnie which is phenominal. We do need a midfielder who can support and score some goals We are thin on the ground as a squad and will be in trouble if we get injuries. In the first half when we kept the ball on the ground we were better than Preston and I thought we were going to rip them in the second half. That never happened and wonder if it was because they out muscled us in midfield in the second half.

I am over the ****ing moon with 2 wins out of 2, despite the owners trying to destroy our club, every credit should go to our manager coaching staff and the players to perform the way they did in most strenuous circumstances. But this is just papering over the cracks of a failing club, for a little bit of investment we could challenge. Get in ther boys and lets keep it going.

On a side note always thought Mulder looked a better keeper thane nordsfelt. Keep it going, next game is the real test.

I'm Very Happy with back to back wins but i'm not stupid enough to think that we are good enough yet and we are desperate for some loanees as i can see half a dozen teams much better than us at the moment....Brentford, Leeds and Boro just to name 3 that look very good. I would say we are more a middle of the table side that with a few good loanees we could match them......I hope to god the club can see this.....

It's good that McBurnie works hard, but what we need is someone who scores goals. Berbatov didn't have a high work rate and look how good he was. I'm not saying Bony is the answer - if he gets back to his best then obviously he is - but we all have no idea what sort of player he is until he manages an extended run staying fit.

McBurnie could have had a hat-trick today. He scored none. He's getting himself into the right positions but to develop into a good striker he'll need to be more clinical.

I'd be happy with mid table , that would give us time to build up the squad but that's in the hands of the yanks and they plans may not be the same as ours . The Clubs you mention haven't had the spine ripped from them so what else would you expect other than them to be stronger than us
