Anyone know what McBurnie tweeted about the shambles?

Craig Noone was a very good signing. 2 great seasons. Just went downhill as he got older.

Youd have a point with styles if it wasnt that Declan had an opportunity with several managers including Trollopes wing back system.

Trust statement on the 'Transfer Window' and details of new Trust Board appointments
please log in to view this image
    The Transfer Window.
The Trust Board wants to be a strong voice for the fans of Swansea City and as such, we cannot let the events of transfer deadline day pass without comment. While we fully appreciate that there would be a need to cut costs following relegation from the Premier League, this should have been coupled with a proactive transfer policy to bring in players to replace those who have left. It is worth remembering of course that our relegation from the Premier League was a direct result of similarly poor transfer dealings over the last three years or so by the club’s previous and current owners. We had hoped that the restructuring of recruitment that the club announced meant that we would see a far more constructive and proactive transfer window this time around. That clearly hasn’t happened and the focus has been on moving players out with insufficient regard for ensuring we have a squad equipped to be as competitive as possible.
While the loan window remains open and we remain hopeful of new additions, the events of deadline day leave the club with a wafer thin playing squad. Given the mass exodus of senior players, it is not unreasonable to expect that some of that money would have been reinvested into new additions to give Graham Potter the best chance of success. Our Supporter Director will be making these feelings known to the rest of the club’s board and seeking assurances that the playing squad will not be further eviscerated in an attempt to cut costs and that new players will be brought in.
We urge all Swansea City fans to get behind the team against Preston at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday. The fans need to provide Graham Potter, his team and his players with the support that has been so sadly lacking from the club’s owners. However, we also fully understand the fans’ right to voice their displeasure at recent events should they wish to do so.

I still don't understand why we seem so much worse off financially than anyone else who has been relegated. I don't see WBA or Stoke basically getting rid of anyone worth anything.
I don't agree entirely with the trust saying to get behind the team on Saturday, as I feel the only way to get the message across to the owners is to simply not turn up to watch matches. Of course I want our team to do well and win, but the other part of me just wants to smash the ****ing owners in the face with a cymbal stand covered in ****, and then make them listen to Queen for a week as torture.

I must acquiesce to your greater knowledge on this matter.

I just feel that for John to be dismissed so cavalierly by people on this site, who apparently " didn't know who the **** he was ", was tasteless in the extreme. I felt he needed a friend.
He may turn out to be a flop, it's happened before. On the other hand.... I'm hoping for the latter. <ok>

" then make them listen to Queen for a week as torture "

That's right. A full week of listening to mrs. windsor regurgitating her Xmas day outpourings would really be torture. <laugh>

I don't understand why we've received approx £40 million in transfer fees and spent approx £7 million on incomings but couldn't afford the £6.5 million to sign Woods. It doesn't make arithmetical sense especially when we've got rid of some of the high earrners.

Doubt that'll happen Dai, especially after yesterday.

Injuries were always going to be an issue because our team is so small. You could see that last week up against the big unfit bastards <laugh> of Sheffield. Now though, its developed from being an issue to being a problem and a big one at that.

We have 50 odd games to play this season, mostly against uncompromising, hard nosed, Championship beef most of who will be licking their lips when they see Carroll, Celina, Asoro, Dhanda, McBurnie, Dyer, Routledge skipping towards them. To get through it all we need cover and failure to get it imo, is just plain negligent.

My issues of concern, after the dust has settled we've been left with:
1 ONE, bona-fide center back (VDH)
1, ONE, standing midfield regular (Carroll),
1, ONE injured midfield regular (Fer)
    1, ONE midfield back-up (Fulton),
1 ONE, rookie midfielder (Celina) supported by
    1, ONE u23's midfielder (Dhanda)
all the above expected to stay injury free throughout the season and feed
1, ONE fit but very unhappy striker, McBurnie.

So just how bad is it? just ask yourself, what would you do if you set your computer to 'automatic transfers' at the beginning of the transfer window and when it closed this is the squad it left you to play a season in the Championship with.

Doesn't matter what you were playing, FIFA, Football Manager, Pro Evolution, we'd all do the same thing, exit without saving and start the game again. Its very bad.

Your 40 million receipts just about over the estimated drop in income you'll have next season....a chunk of which comes in t the end of the season, so someone said. (Phil, I think). You latest accounts show a profit purely from transfer dealings that covered an operational loss. You have dropped your wages bill (hopefully) but again someone said that Bony does not have a relegation clause? You've spent another 7 mill so maybe another 6.5 mill is a step too far. You haven't got a sugar-daddy or owners willing to invest in your return. As for the other clubs who came down, Stoke are gambling and have a bigger locality to sweep support from. WBA are also a much bigger club wit bigger following and have been doing this for yonks.

WBA attendance was just under 3.5 million and Stoke's about 8.5 million more than us and just like us , as will be the case with Cardiff, most of their revenue came from TV broadcasting. My point is we were told by those in charge we would have to sell to buy and I'm questioning the difference between that statement and what has happened in the transfer market. Personally I would welcome a rebuild with younger more committed players over 2 to 3 seasons but would like the truth be told to us fans.

If you shop at say, Next, M&S, Boots, etc., i,e, as customers, you don't expect these Companies to give you chapter and verse on how they run their businesses.

So, as customers of a football Club, why would you expect to be told this " truth ", as you put it ?

…...because the fans have a 21% stake in the Club?

Because I am a fan and supporter not a customer with an emotional involvement with the club something I hazard a guess most fans have. I couldn't give a toss about Next, M&S , or any other retailer. The use of customer in this context smacks of the political correctness nonsense which sadly is having too much credence in society these days. Political correctness is moral cowardice in my book.
