Two completely different players. Maddison gets on the end of things. Grealish is the one who starts the moves that Maddison finishes. We have enough attacking midfielders along with a striker who gets on the end of things. We lack someone who can start the moves for said attacking mids/ striker.
Maddison was played as an attacking midfielder and was the focus of the Norwich side, who failed miserably. Grealish played a deeper playmaker role and Villa got to the play-off final. How many did N'didi score or assist? Don't get me wrong, I think that Maddison's got plenty of potential. He's a decent signing. He'll probably move to Chelsea's bench in a couple of years.
But with better players around him.... He's been excellent in preseason. Very good signing for 13mil. He won't start but he gives us options. You think Klopp will let him be lazy?
£13m isn't bad tbf, but he's just that type of player who waits for the play to come to him, and occasionally pulls something spectacular off. Don't see him doing much of note at Pool tbh.
He's been playing at Stoke ffs. He's only 26 and looks on point. Excellent squad player. 13mil it's a no brainer. 26 year old CL winner.
He wanted to work with Klopp. Plus our fitness coach is his old coach at BM. He wouldn't have gone elsewhere the minute we came in for him.
He’s a decent enough player, but he’s also a massive bell end with a load of previous for **** stirring if it’s not going his way. If he’s on the bench most weeks he’ll eventually kick off, nailed on. I can see why you signed him, but he’s got the potential to unsettle that dressing room, and for that reason he’s a risk imo. He’d have been better served going somewhere he’d have been a first choice.
No way! Tel is no Welch. He’s not your puppet, mate. Tel will knuckle down and take the dry humping that’s coming.
