Catholic teenager playing for Rangers is threatened Police in Glasgow have launched an investigation after internet threats were made against a Limavady teenager who plays for Rangers. Sectarian and threatening remarks were left on the "unofficial" Rangers Media website in the days after Catholic teenager Aaron McGregor signed for the Glasgow club earlier this year. A former Gaelic footballer with Limavady Wolfhounds, the 17-year-old made headlines when he signed a two-year professional deal with the Ibrox club in June. In a chilling reminder of the sectarian campaign aimed at Celtic boss Neil Lennon, one poster on the fans' forum coldly said of the Catholic teen: "Can't wait for him to receive bombs and bullets." A second poster made his feelings clear when he wrote: "Rangers FC should, under no circumstances, be hiring Fenians." Another poster calling himself 'Lisburn Rangers' and using a UDA avatar bearing the words 'Lisburn UDA' branded the "head of the Catholic Church", Pope Benedict, the anti-Christ. Rangers Football Club last night moved to distance itself from the offending website, branding it "unofficial". The club made no further comment. "Can't wait for him to receive bombs and bullets." "Rangers FC should, under no circumstances, be hiring Fenians." Nice website
The Belfast Telegraph is not gutter press. It's on the BBC too. You don't think things like this should be reported? Or, as I suspect, you don't want things reported that might look negativity on an element of Rangers support?
It's ****e, from what I know, it was said as a joke and was in reference to the Lennon "death" threats. 99.9% of Rangers fan welcome Aaron and Alan Smith too, if they are good enough, they are blue enough. The funny thing is that that particular forum conversation literally had hundreds of "Welcome to Rangers Aaron, and "We don't care if he's a NI RC" yet the press only report the few poor WUM attempts. Gutter press, sensationalist bullshit, to fool the masses. ****e.
Yeah, the context was: "See that thing that was us - that wisnae us hur hur hur" It's even more disturbing when taken in context ya fat ****ing ride
Funbags is offended again Wonder what the Groin Brigade would make of it if Celtic singed an Irish Protestant, when was the last one? 60 years ago Fact of the matter is, Rangers fans 99.9% of them, wlecomed the young Irish RC with open arms (pardon the pun) we don't give a **** if he's a Prod/RC/Muslim/Jehovah. It's a ****ty story GIRFUY
