I believe it also has to do with the amount of time they hang the meat. The meat is poor in France. I have been in many regions and all types of restaurants and being a steak eater I know what is good and not. Sadly France is poor.
It’s still second to NZ as source of imports. If we all bought British we wouldn’t need to import anything from them. And we would be doing the planet a favour too. Or is the point of Brexit to prop up other countries exports? I’m now confused again. Best steak is Japanese, but that’s marbled with fat which melts when it is cooked. Has to be said Connemara lamb is superb as well.
Why are you confused every country imports and exports. We have goods from Japan/China/Australia and so on . All it means is that quantity is increased. I have championed for many years that the UK needs to be more self-sufficient. Plenty of land to grow (when they are not building houses). They are saying now is a great time to set up a business. I see many small holdings being created. I have even thought about investing in a microbrewery myself. Who needs cheap EU beer when you can have a pint of 'Ellers Ale'
I'd buy a case of that, Ellers! You could spike a bottle with Dulcolax and send it to Herr Junckers...
Right I am off out. I have been invited fishing off the rocks by some French bloke. Little does my EU friend know that I am going to take some fish out of their waters in response to what they do to us. Wish me luck!
Depends where you buy and where you eat old kiddy Locally I always have a fresh burger thingy never a faux filet If I travel 10k then you get to eat the best The very best nothing close in the U.K. to come close but it starts at €135 and you are there for 3 hours minimum The Fleur is a standard place I walk to See how that matches to a standard place in the U.K. different gear so my point is a beef based dish in France is religiously good https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...es_Restaurant-Olargues_Herault_Occitanie.html

You do make me laugh DT. Remember I bought a house near Limoges and my neighbour is a cow farmer. he told me all the best meat goes to London restaurants. however enjoy your restaurant.
Well that’s all I can do as I am not a meat trader. You claimed French Beef is poor so I had to response A Cow Farmer? So he slaughters cows and sends them to the U.K.? I expect they are tender? Does he deal with any Venison as they difficult animals to look after The free range Venison of the Limousin are renowned as are the wild Veal of the Massif Central Did you catch any fish?
Don't give a toss about the passport colour. But fishing? Is the taxpayer going to pay for several hundred armed patrol ships to ensure that nobody fishes in 'our waters? Are we ready to go to war so that self-proclaimed 'patriots' can feel proud about their country?
No. I was well miffed. The French bloke didn't turn up so I ended up on my own. The only bites I got was from the mosquitos and the midges that bit my ankles the blood-sucking muppets. No bloody fish in the sea! I can see why they fish our waters. A good reason to leave the EU.
Don’t be daft. We don’t have enough boats to fish all our fish. We’ll just sell licences to the Dutch and Spanish. Nice little earner.
We have already sunk the French fleet once at Mers-el-Kebir! Just tell them to keep out of our waters and they will.
