I just feel (and I may be wrong) that I didn't see too much of our midfield in pre season. Not too many with a full game...knocks and niggles..I just don't believe they can be in the best condition for the start of the season. Is that how it's always been? And maybe I'm overating villa too but I'm not too optimistic.

This will pretty much be the team I guess, though Irvine may well not start as he is not match fit yet, so can see Stewart or Batty playing alongside Henriksen.
I would like to see Todd Kane in the team, as he has impressed in preseason, but that would be at the expense of Lichaj or either Kingsley.
The Lads are out training right now over the back fence. It sounds very intense with loads of " Quicker, quicker, one touch, one touch". Sounds like we're going to try and play around Villa as opposed to going through them.

First season for years we have a shaky goalie, no experience at the back, and no strikers. Villa are weaker now than they were but probably still stronger than us in every position on the pitch. Bruce probably thought it was a gift from heaven getting us first match. As its first day i think we might get away with only losing 1 or 2 nil, but wouldnt be surprised if we shipped 3 or 4.
If we somehow sell-out a game, reckon it'd be reported as an attendance of 50,000?
