Hang on a sec pal......ahem, just realised Kurt Nogan was last century, but what about Warren Feeney eh? :emoticon-0103-cool:

Masky - both me and Nin have painful memories of Feeney missing an open goal against Coventry from about 3 yards - he only had to roll it in - it was far worse than Gounongbe's Brum effort.

I think it was that same game against Cov about 10 years back that Darren Purse smashed a penalty against the cross bar so hard it was still vibrating the next day - I think we lost it 0-1. <doh>

Just seen the extended highlights of both Torquay & Rotherham games.

Sloppy goal conceded at Torquay. Goalkeeper and defenders need to be on same wavelength.

Madine showed again just how average he is. Warnock should just get rid and bring in someone who can control a ball, pass a ball and know which direction the net is. He’s up there with the worst strikers seen this century.

Can add Rickie Lambert to that list

Yes I recall that like it was yesterday <yikes>

Previous home game we lost against Stoke also 0-1 and again missed a last minute penalty but not Purse but Steve McLean.

Reports of Troy Deeney at 15 million, surely not? Can’t get a game at Watford and at 30 years of age, not much younger than Masky! Tough and aggressive enough but so was Jon Parkin! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Just read the deeney piece.
Can't imagine his salary will be cheap eitherinitial reaction was no!!!
To be fair, he gets goals which may be the difference between staying up and not , so softening to the idea.

£15m for a 30 year old with baggage?

That is just crazy. If true.

Warnock wasted £6m on Madine.

Warnock may be a canny operator in the transfer market but not when it comes to forwards

You are in the PL now, the word " cheap " has been erased from all dictionaries. Try the phrase ' less expensive '.

Deeney is a proven player at PL level. He has a presence on the field of play, gets stuck in, and scores goals. At 30 he has enough years left in him to warrant a £ 15 mill tag. Salary will be higher than you would like, but if you want to play with the big boys, you have to stump up the cash.

Very true Vetch and he's much better than what we have plus he knows the Prem. Both areas we lack in.

Perhaps a bit more than we want to pay but time to bite the bullet and get him on board this week.
