Any news on centre mid? If Grujic isn't coming we need someone in a working to come up to speed with our style of play sooner rather than later. Would forego another striker for a quality midfielder.
Here's what WoL suggest if we don't get Grujic (I still think he will come): - https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...six-central-midfielders-cardiff-city-14940193 Arter would get my vote from those 6 but my contacts "darn sarf" tell me he wants to go to London where he has friends and family. Also, some doubts on his injury record and temperament. Gosling would be a safer, steady Eddie, bet.
I was just about to post that link. The journo must be bored if all he has done today is create a list of midfielders.
Lazio apparently back in for Grujic but not keen on paying the £20m Liverpool want for him. Liverpool would prefer another loan to us to see how he develops in a Prem environment. As stated in a previous post, his agent is probably stirring the pot with a bigger fee for him if a straight transfer results.
20 million? Has the world gone mad? Am I dreaming or was he struggling to hold his place in a decent Championship side last season (us). It was a risk to have in the side at times, I’m convinced that he only played him to avoid financial fines. He’s good yes, but 20 mills, nooooooooooooooo?
Palace in for Grujic: - https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/crystal-palace-swoop-cardiff-city-14949658 Or just WoL stirring the soft and smellies again?
Might be wrong, but I thought the blocker was his agent wanting a permie deal so he got a pay day. Klopp seems happy for him to come to us on loan so think this 'news' isn't an issue. The trouble could be the fact that foreign league transfer windows don't close til the end of August so his agent may be trying to delay beyond the 9th to force Liverpool's hand.
If I'm honest I don't care much if Grujic goes elsewhere the top teams will be looking to offload some good players on loan before the window closes. If he signs for us all well and good but not worth losing sleep over.
Totally agree with this. Whoever is blocking the move to City, it's time to call a halt at our end. Plenty of other candidates - probably more experienced and suitable for the upcoming season as well rather than him. We need someone to keep us up, not speculate on Grujic coming good this season - TBH, he was no great shakes last season.
At my advanced age of say hmmm...57, my are not so much “soft and smelly”, more your “hard and pungent” pal! Still mustn’t crumble!
Just realised that my fascaes hath no aroma, think I meant crispy! Just for the sake of accuracy before the season starts. We’ll have very little time to discuss such personal matters then!
Grujic latest. Nothing really changed but agree with the thought that it’s time to either sign him or look elsewhere. City had a youngster in midfield last night (James Waite) for one half; great experience for him but at this stage of pre season you need to be playing your likely opening fixture team which won’t include young Waite. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...ff-city-targeting-another-midfielder-14953574
Just seen the extended highlights of both Torquay & Rotherham games. Sloppy goal conceded at Torquay. Goalkeeper and defenders need to be on same wavelength. Madine showed again just how average he is. Warnock should just get rid and bring in someone who can control a ball, pass a ball and know which direction the net is. He’s up there with the worst strikers seen this century.
Hang on a sec pal......ahem, just realised Kurt Nogan was last century, but what about Warren Feeney eh?
