Have you not noticed that companies within the EU place far more value on keeping their single market intact rather than deal with a small country. They would like to do both, but if it come down to a choice they know which side their bread is buttered.

I have noticed the eurocrats in Brussels have little regard to the welfare of EU workers. Companies concentrate on trading and seeking a profit rather than get involved in politics.

The Italian deputy prime minister has revealed there is 'no objectivity or good faith from the European side', he has also warned May will be swindled so better to walk away. This revelation seems to tie in with the ex Greek Finance Minister who has been saying the same for the last two years.

This is no revelation... just political talk

I am so surprised that you a so called business man indulge in this sort of stuff.....

Was Cameron sent packing before the referendum? No. Brexit was promised to be easy, simple and a good deal.
Why are brexiters so fearful of hearing what the people want now - given a real choice not a range of everything to all people?

Cameron's request to the EU for specific changes on immigration was before the referendum.

Did you ever expect objectivity and good faith? How surprising. If this were Frexit the UK would be smirking while "shoving it up 'em". Quaint to think how many brexiters thought people would let you quit their club but ask for all the benefits while paying nothing.

I am so called retired now.

Comments from senior politicians that unfortunately have to deal with the eurocrats are enlightening, it shows why Brexit was the correct decision for the British people.

That was not the question. The referendum never suggested exiting without a deal. See what the likes of Liam Fox said about an easy deal.

The referendum asked a simple question which the British people clearly answered - leave the EU.

Oddly enough I tend to share your dislike of Euro-politics. The entire set up and structures of the EU are awful. There is no real democracy and waste is frightful. Despite this the UK enjoyed economic prosperity unparallelled since the war. To go back to economic boom bust and low growth, high inflation, devaluationary policies just to get the myth of sovereignty was not worth it.

I thought you would deal in facts not just loose talk....

The facts for me are clear we are better in than out..... even rees smogg says it

Do you not know everyone has heard and understood you saying that. However you can then never follow through. In 2016 "leave the EU" had multiple meanings. We can now have a referendum to vote which brexit "the people" want - or if they do not like what is offered they can say thanks but we have changed our minds. A democracy is somewhere that encourages people to change their governments regularly. Democracy is not about a one off vote.

I disagree, the referendum result only had one meaning, leaving the EU. That is the only certainty, the UK must carry out the will of the people as directed by the UK parliament. Any attempt to muddy the water should be shown the contempt it deserves.

Farage, and others, made it perfectly clear before the referendum that even if UK growth suffered short term it was worth it to regain sovereignty, control of our borders and to stop sending cash to Brussels.

Rubbish SH. The referendum result said that the British wanted to go on a journey, but the destination was not clear. Norway is outside of the EU. and so a 'Norway' type solution would be perfectly within the parameters of 'leaving the EU'.

We already had control of the border's, just that the maybot didn't utilise those powers as HS. Thus we already had sovereignty. It has already been demonstrated numerous times that we really get much more back from the EU than is popularly believed* and the sums of money that we now stand to lose (are already losing) is far more than that.
This is not a case of just cutting our nose off to spite our face... it's a full scalping as well.
*Why is that? Well let's ask those non-dom newspaper owners who are about to have their tax loop-holes strangled? All about their bank accounts and certainly not mine or that of the average Joe.

The result dictated the journey would end with the UK leaving the EU. That much is extremely clear. The result also had to fix the major concerns of Brexiteers, hopefully it will do.

Disagree. Do you think the UK will want to allow thousands of Romanian gypsies in after Brexit? Until Brexit we have no choice on who enters the UK.
How can you say we have sovereignty when the ECJ has the final say? Not my kind of sovereignty.

It did. A Norway solution is leaving the EU - but apparently not a "leaving" you like.
Why are you so afraid of asking the people (who are the only excuse you have to demand brexit) if they want the brexit which is on offer?
Democracy is not frozen in time.
What do the people want now they have two years experience?

Because the 2016 referendum was a clear take it or leave it choice. The result should be respected.

Oh - it is respected so much we now want to ask the people for further guidance. There seems to be confusion about what sort of brexit so let the peopple have a vote - or don't you like democracy?
On your calculation perhaps we should have stayed with the post war Labour government - the people voted it in. Oh no - we are allowed further votes to change our minds, aren't we?
