Cloudy as ****, got my big lens attached & everything

Hoping there’s some lightening now to make it worthwhile.

Got one last night that was slightly amberish, when practicing. Although this was probably the sun’s reflections?

Depends how high the moon was in the sky.

It always appears low by us. One day I’ll get a couple of hour light trail exposure.

Nice. When the moon is low in the sky, the reflected light from the sun has more atmosphere to travel though, the blue wavelengths are scattered making it seem redder. Like how the sun goes red at sunset.

So star gazers, what is the bright dot about 10 moon diameters below and 2 to the right of the moon. I have seen the whole thing in crystal clear skies of Greece.

It's Mars. Apparently it is the closest to the Earth that it's been for decades.

    Well summat like that.

If it looks reddish, it's probably a Man City fan travelling at the speed of light away from Earth.
If it's tinged blue, it's likely a Man Utd fan galloping at the speed of light towards Earth.

If it's white or yellowish-green, it'll be Neymar lying on the ground.

I put on a photo exhibition of pictures taken by some students of a tutor I use. I asked that editing was kept to a minimum as the purpose of the exhibition was to attract beginners to the courses.

One picture was of the sun setting at Mow Cop, a local landmark with good views of the Cheshire Plains. I asked the photographer if he’d done much editing, he hadn’t. When I pointed out that the sun sets on the other side of Mow Cop he admitted that the only editing he’d done was overlaying a sunset he’d taken from his back door onto the picture of Mow Cop. I still put it up & nobody else noticed.

Not that I’m suggesting there’s some photoshop shenanigans going on here.

I don't fancy my chances against her to be honest ben. But as long as I get a Viking funeral I'll be happy. <ok>
