United let him go. City sign him on pay as you play. You are all talking crap as usual. Let's see who's laughing at who come the end of the season. You know you're scared!!
In two minds about this one. My heart says he should have rejected the City approach. If the move is all about playing football and not money as well are lead to believe, then why sign for City who have an abundant of players in that position? If playing is so important to the lad, why not choose WBA? Also my heart is saying how insensitive is it to choose our local rivals, after all the time, money and loyalty Utd as a club plus its fans showed Owen?
However when I think with my head I realise the lad was a free agent, he left Utd on good terms and he may have a chance (slim I know) of winning a major trophy with City.
Not really sure to be honest how to decide on this one.

My heart says that as well, but my head says:
1. He's England's best CM when fit. But regardless of what Capello says about form, players from the top clubs are far more likely to be picked for England (why else does Barry get in ahead of Parker?). So if he really wants to get to Euro 2012 he needs to be playing for a top club, and if Utd won't take him City are probably the best option atm.
2. For all the Youtube vids he's gotta know his body is going to be fragile. So surely he'll prefer playing for a club like City where he will play 25-30 games a season and is able to be subbed off if he feels tightness, rather than West Brom where he will be the best player and will have to play on in tight games cos they just won't be able to replace him from the bench.
3. On the same note, if he's not 100% confident in his fitness (and he can't be after last season) he's going to want to join the club with the best medical facilities, highest paid doctors, and able to refer him to any specialist he needs if he starts having problems again. Again, that's City over West Brom.
So whilst I'd like to think it's all about the money and Hargo's just another mercenary, given his age, injury problems and desire to play for England again, it kind of makes sense for him to go to City. Dammit.
It does from his point of view seem a better idea to move to city than say WBA. However even when reasonably fit (which is unlikely) he will in my opinion not take the place of Barry or Toure. Not saying Barry is better, he's not since Barry is pants, just got a feeling Mancini will stick to those two players unless his hand is forced.
That's true, Mancini does seem to have an inordinate love of Barry, and De Jong is much more defensive than Hargo which also fits with Mancini's philosophy. But then again, given Mancini's love of catenaccio, City may well end up with Barry, Hargo and De Jong playing together in the ultimate defensive midfield!
Don't forget City will be competing on 4 fronts this season, so they will be playing Saturday Wednesday most weeks. So Hargreaves I'm sure if fit, will get plenty of chances In the side to prove he is better than Barry, De Jong and Toure.
Mancini has shown so far, that he is not afraid to drop players, so if Hargreaves puts in some good performances I'm sure Mancini would have no worrys making him first choice. I still have my doubts about his fitness though

Swarbs, I agree with all your points above and whilst sad to see one of the best mid-fielders we have had on our books leave us, I wish the lad the best of luck in the future. One of my fondest memories of that great night in Moscow was singing the Hargreaves song ( about his curly hair ) over and over again on the long but happy trip home. One point that I don't think has been mentioned is that no matter how many games he eventually plays for the enemy, he will be a great source of invaluable information about "all things United". I know Teves moved there a couple of years ago but we all know he is as thick as a brick ! So Hargreaves is just another "aid" to the mega rich Arabs turning their small club into United No. 2 .He is also a 2 times winner of the champions league and will bring a wealth of experience about playing in Europe. So I'm not convinced that minutes on the pitch are the prime reason that our noisy neighbours have signed him but I hope for his sake I am proven wrong.
Sorry but I can't bring myself to wish the guy luck. He is moving to one of our biggest rivals and as nasty as this may sound, I hope he continues to be plagued by injuries. He was never fit for us so it would annoy me if he went on to play for city, free of injury.

United paid his wages and medical bills for 3 years in which he contributed nothing on the pitch. His contract then ran out and, based on the fact that so much time and money had already been invested in ensuring his recovery, with no reward, it was hard to justify giving him a new one. That apart, I think it's poor form from any player to move to a rival club.
So Owen Hargreaves, have a good time at City. I hope you are fit to feature in as many games for them in the next few years as you were in your last few years at United.

Difficult one this, I really wish him all the best and was desperate for him to get fit over the last three season as our CM was crying out for a player of that type and ability. It still is.

We can but hope. Maybe that's Hargo's plan - give Mancini so many defensive midfield options that he never picks another attacking midfielder again

If OH wanted to compete at CL level I`m sure Arsenal would have signed him given their problems, that I would not have minded, infact I would have wished him luck but to sign for those twats is downright disrespectful to all MUFC fans who have supported him through the last 3 seasons, he can go **** himself as far as I`m concerned.

i would say i'd boo the **** out of him when we play against him, but what are the chances of him being fit?
that being said, i now consider him a ****. it's low of any player to go to your fiercest rivals, it's even worse when you've been paid an absolute fortune for the past 3 years and contributed nothing at all on the pitch because you're too weak mentally to get back out there.
sickening prick. for me, he's worse than tevez. at least he wasn't a complete and utter liability during his spell.
