Am genuinely surprised we haven't seen more movement this transfer window - at the least, our current squad is too big and we need to get rid.

Also Maguire to Man Utd looks like it is a very strong possibility - they are willing to pay the £60M odd we want but need to get rid of their deadwood first as well.

I can see is getting something like £50m and Chris Smalling.

Let's give the lad a chance... he's actually achieved more than Kaspar had when we signed him ...
We were in the championship so signing a championship keeper made sense.

Now we are not and we have either ridiculously overpaid for a backup or signed an inexperienced number 1 when the likes of Jack Butland is available for around the same price.

I really hope I am wrong but everything I have read about this kid is that he has potential to be half decent but his greatest strength was his nationality which is why Liverpool wanted a pretty penny for him.

We've signed Louis Ramsey - a 20yo RB who was released by Norwich.

Is something I suppose.

Club really need to kick on in the market now. The window closes in 2 weeks and all we have done is replaced a loan player (Evans for Dragovic) replaced the back up keeper (Hamer for Ward) sorted out the long running number 10 problem with Maddison and finally got another right back in to compete with Simpson

Still need another centre half, someone to replace Mahrez

And then need to shift Slimani, Benalouane Ulloa and anyone else

At this rate we will need to keep Musa to add numbers in attacking areas

Manchester United have told Leicester City they want to sign £65m-rated England defender Harry Maguire, 25. (Mirror)

And they call that news. How about another bit of news!

Leicester City tell Manchester United to go f*** themselves.

I really don’t think we are far off but need one key signing as a Mahrez replacement as we look worryingly uncreative without him. I hear people saying centre back, left back but they would be squad improvements, we need one more for the first 11 (aside from any key departures)

Kasper
Periera Evans Maguire Chilwell
Ndidi Silva
??? Maddison Gray/Diabate
Vardy

I have high hopes for Silva and Iheanacho this season

I hope you're right about those 2. Personally I can't see any reason to be optimistic over the contributions from either. I think the Prem is too fast for Silva. He looks okay playing for a fairly pedestrian Portugal side, but he is a bit slow and gets caught in possession. Hopefully a close season will give him chance to gain more cohesion with his team mates. I fear he could prove to be an expensive flop. Maybe the addition of Pereira might help him.

Iheanacho just comes across as a very average striker at the moment. It's been difficult for him to get confidence and consistency when he hasn't had too many starts, but he needs to show more quality when he gets his chance.

What is the situation with Mendy? Does he still exist?

Of the two, Iheanacho showed what he can do in those last couple of games last season. He’s clearly a great finisher and for the lack of minutes he got had an ok return. It’s always difficult being behind Vardy as more proven strikers have shown. I’m sure he’ll get goals given a run in the side.
Silva has quality on the ball. His season was so disrupted, hopefully he’ll adapt to the pace of the league. I’m keeping positive for now anyway

Got to love our owners ... sort of what I expected... doesn't suit us to sell Maguire for at least a couple of seasons ... so likely we won't ... what they will do is give him a bumper pay rise on his existing (or one year extended) contract ... which will temper any disappointment <cheers>

Apparently Man Utd are willing to offer Lindelof + cash for Maguire - would tempt me if Magure wants to leave.

We are also linked with Ben Gibson but only if Maguire leaves - I'd get him to play with Maguire...

We are also linked with Jordan Ayew from Swansea.

Liam Moore has handed in a transfer request at Reading

In his first few seasons here the lad looked like he would have a big future for us. He even started the Premier League season well but dipped like the rest of the team after that 5-3 win over Man U and he never seemed to recover. Claudio Ranieri never gave him a chance and almost banished him from the first team

I wouldnt mind us bringing him back tbf. He would only cost about £10M and we possibly would get discount if we have a sell on clause. Put him next to Evans and Maguire in a back 3 with Morgan as back up

We are being linked with a loan move for Danny Drinkwater.

2 reasons why I would say no. We have too many midfielders already and after how he forced his move through. There is no way back here for him

And Real Madrid are being linked with Harry Maguire

Also reports in Spain we have bid €30M for Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer

We need to shift 2 of Musa, Ulloa and Slimani before we bring in another striker

2 positions we need now is a centre half and a winger

We are linked with Kyosuke Tagawa a 19yo Japanese forward - would be one for the far future as apparently he wouldn't qualify for a work permit so would be on load for a couple of years at least.

We are also linked with Craig Dawson - the West Brom defender has put in a transfer request.
