Serious discussion though as i was just netting milk:
1. Is it even possible to see people hacking into your servers without someone successfully doing it (anyone technical know)?
2. Money channelled into the GOP - is there really that much of a difference to Russian Roubles than the NRA or corporation xyz funding party abc? Both are corruption of politicians.
on first one I don't know as not an expert.
On second one the difference is it's illegal. Foreign agents aren't allowed to contribute to campaign finance for exactly the reasons it appears have happened here.
You're not even allowed to accept money as a private citizen and then campaign for anything that would benefit a foreign country unless you declare yourself a foreign agent.
So in theory, even if you take direct meetings away (treason) if a candidate has accepted money from a foreign power they can be blackmailed.... if other members of the party have accepted money they too can be blackmailed... so now you have 2 of the 3 sections of the govt compromised .... between those 2 they can if lucky or by arrangement select life time members of the 3rd branch of govt ..... all under the influence of a foreign power.
So the Trump possibility. Money (forget the peepee tape) building deals etc. He's now owned .... so now you have a guy who if he had his way wanted to remove sanctions on Russia put in place because they invaded other nations.
He wants to disband or disrupt NATO and the EU.....
Now these may be his own ideas but they literally go against even most of his own administration and every other administration for 50 years.... you have his party appearing to reverse positions and attitudes on almost all foreign policy and large parts of domestic policies they held before?
Now it could be fear of his base, the base he and alt right mobilised through using social media, pretend news sites and sources a lot of which were paid for and or run by Russian agents.
Or... they too were paid knowingly or unknowingly by a foreign power.
And today that gop congress just entered proposed legislation that would allow the likes of the NRA to hide the identities of its donors..... go figure eh? A day after a leading NRA official is arrested as a Russian agent.....
