Apparently, their total contribution to the knock-out phase of the WC was Danny Welbeck. He never played a minute of those games.......<laugh>

From the BBC Transfer Gossip section...

    Crystal Palace
winger Wilfried Zaha is "going nowhere for four years" according to manager Roy Hodgson.

Maybe Roy could have worded that better.......but between turning down England and signing a long term deal with Palace, he ain't wrong. <laugh>

<laugh> So, Arsenal sign a fraudulent sponsorship deal.........now, just Mesut Ozil's fraudulent world class status and those fraudulent attendance figures to deal with and we're all good........

I've seen headlines stating Maurizio Sarri will be bringing Napoli style to the Premier League

...and I couldn't help but immediately think of this

I'd say their total contribution to the knockout stages was Ospina saving Jordan Henderson's penalty...

Ooops, I forgot him and got the stat from somewhere I also forget. If they're lucky, he'll be gone this summer. I hope they're not. Cech's on the downward side of the hill but he always turns up against us.

Still, the points a good one. Arsenal's contribution was negligible and resulted in their congratulations to Olivier Giroud tweet........"Look, he may be **** and he may not play for us any more but he did once and we're desperate and he won the World Cup." - Embarrassing.

They've signed Bernd Leno, who we were linked with a number of years ago before Lloris joined, IIRC.
He's 26, so he should just about be hitting his prime and I think that he'll either go straight in or be eased in over the first half of the season.

Yeah, I'm not totally sold on him. I've got BT Sport and trouble sleeping, so I see a reasonable amount of German, Italian and French football. I've seen a reasonable amount of him and he's decent but I wouldn't go much further than that. I certainly wouldn't swap Hugo for him, let's put it that way.

As a second choice, I hope that they get stuck with Ospina. He's flat out not good enough.

Probably depends on Cech's plans. He's got a year left on his contract, so he might see that out and then go.
At 37 he may consider retiring or he could have one last contract in him.

There have been rumours of a return to Chelsea and they may see him as a decent stop-gap, having missed out on Alisson. He's forever part of their club and like Big Pat, a spell 'over there' won't change that. I can see that move happening as he must be on a large wedge with 'them' and the need to trim some dying and dead wood.

Chelsea have also been linked with Donnarruma and Courtois' departure looks to be a done deal.
Having Cech mentoring the youngster and acting as back-up and cover sounds ideal. ****.

Waste of time for most clubs to try and sign players. The season is more or less over. Maybe we should just have a final between these two teams and save all that anguish and money and whatever else we waste during a season.
Liverpool and Manchester City will fight it out for the Premier League title this season, believes former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp.
