Will always hold a special fondness for him... even if only for his Direby (cheating feckers) snowgate tweet (it WAS him that did it wasn't it???).
Nice way to bow out. He didn't play much but was always there when needed and from what I hear his attitude in training, when not part of the matchday squad or an unused sub was excellent. A real team player. Goodbye "the knife". You were part of a huge season of achievement at our club. Good luck with whatever the future holds.
Don't think Colin keeps players with bad attitudes around long. He's always praised Connolly and pilks for their attitude. Both fringe play ers, but very important in our promotion campaign.
The Russian guy keeps cropping up.................. http://sportwitness.co.uk/cardiff-city-willing-offer-loan-deal-right-redemption-sign-world-cup-star/
Well he's a big lump of a player at 6ft 5ins and as we saw in the World Cup isn't afraid of putting himself about. Has a goal every 3 games record, however, he has only ever played for Russian teams. Looks like we only want him on loan to begin with but, I assume from the language used, an option to buy - redemption clause? Could be useful in putting the wind up opposing defences. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artem_Dzyuba
Not sure which way that "redemption clause" they mention is supposed to work Bluey. Legally the phrase usually means buying yourself out of an agreement - as if Cardiff could pay up an agreed figure to ship him back if it doesn't work out. The other way to look at it would be that Zenit could pay an agreed "redemption" figure to get him back - very strange.
Redemption: - 1. The action of saving or being saved from sin, error or evil. Or 2. The action of gaining or regaining possession of something in exchange for payment or clearance of a debt. Which one would apply to us?
As you say, it won't go away. Assume the redemption clause would mean if certain conditions were met (games, goals, us staying up) we're obliged to buy him. Brings Madines future in to question.
Could come back to the old chestnut of who actually owns a player bearing mind the Russian connection - remember Tevez and Mascherano.
Another winger? - and 11 million ................... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...d-signing-West-Brom-winger-Matt-Phillips.html
Can't see that. Us or Newcastle? They will pay better than us but weather better here. Not consistent enough for my liking. I think he scored a cracker against us in Blackpool's promotion season and we tried to sign him then.
With all those wingers, what we need now is another target man. I don't know, a 6'4" / 6'5" striker. Tan certainly stumping up the cash if this is true. Still need a centre mid or two. The rest of the window will be about selling some of our 'spares'. Hope we can recoup a few bob.
.......and another one pops up - more like the type of player we need though............... http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/07/1...-cardiff-city-plan-8-million-raid-on-leeds-f/
No news on a right back then Just cannot see how Peltier or Richards can be good enough; especially the latter with his lack of football in recent seasons.
