its klopps way of saying we are stuck with him as no one wants him.
i expect a lot of broken finger nails this coming season and out for a month at a time.
He’s got a year left so you’ll be looking to get a fee for him. Expect that fee to drop as the window ticks by......
I reckon we’d let him go for free but he’s likely on some kind of loyalty bonus if this is done before his contract is done. Ah well, it’s only one more year.
Wonder what will happen to him after his contract expires. If there is nobody willing to take him now, what difference is it going to be next summer.
Everybody knows about his injury record and his wage demand will be too high for anybody even considering the risk with the fragile body.
Might as well retire come next year, The loyalty payment is his pension.

Horrible way to live your life if he intends to do this. He should be busting his balls to play for Liverpool and if not, should leave for another club. He's getting a shed load of money at Liverpool, and would still with another PL club. No self pride or dignity shown by some footballers nowadays. I'm a civil servant and get paid peanuts, but i still go to work and put in a shift. I'm unhappy when i don't do a good job or bum around.
Loyalty bonus for what? Sitting on the bench sulking? Also a bonus on top of the millions he's getting paid every year? Crazy the disparity of money between footballers and fans. I can't relate to any of it, it's a disgusting and vulgar situation we're in now.

I do an important job and get paid peanuts, but like you I need to work and do something I enjoy otherwise it's a wasted life.
Sturridge is a ****house tbh. He's one of our highest earners and knows he won't get anywhere near that if he goes so he's basically milking Liverpool for all he can before eventually leaving next year to earn less. Money orientated big time. I get a lot of footballers are but most at least try and put effort in, he doesn't give a ****. Lazy ****er that's living off the season he had with Suarez (I should imagine that was when he got him bumper deal).
I'd put him the reserves if he didn't sort his **** out.
You do know that he is a multi millionaire? His confirmed wages are £120k a week which equates to over £6m a year, (correct me if i'm wrong but it's still a lot of money) not including his sponsors as well.
Then, with regard to Sturridge et al, we're still carrying passengers: Karius, Mignolet, Moreno to name a few. Sentimentality won't win us jack, sorry
A footballer like him could retire after a year and live a very comfortable life if they were wise.

Not Sentimentality with Sturridge, nobody wants him cause every time he gets touched or run he's injured and we pay him too much which he now expects. He's happy to sit around doing jack ****, getting paid and receive his big fat bonus at the end of it all .

Gomes to choose Spurs over Arsenal?
Andre Gomes will reportedly strike a blow to Arsenal’s hopes of luring him to London - by signing for bitter rivals Tottenham.
The Barcelona midfielder is set to exit the Nou Camp this summer after failing to hold down a place in the first team since his move from Valencia two years ago.
And according to Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Gomes is keen on a move to north London.
Juventus have also been interested but may be reluctant to spend more money having splashed out £100million on Crisitiano Ronaldo.
Gomes, 24, is expected to cost around £18m and is reportedly keen to work with Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
