Boysoboys!! So many wrongs in such a short space. History (or law) was never your strong point, was it? Perhaps you should research dates associated with Assent, The Auld Alliance etc. I don't recall Scotland ever fighting our long term ally, France, but I may be wrong. Looking forward to details. You may be referring to conscripts or mercenaries, or people not fit to hold the title of Scot. Details would be most welcome. How long will it take you to make it up?

You see, we were taught this history. You clearly weren't. You've probably never heard of Queen Anne anyway (clue: last monarch to refuse assent. In 1708).

And that's the whole point - english arrogance. Scotland is part of our country. england is not our country. Britain is not synonymous with england, though you obviously think so.

As regards the Highlands, I suggest you do some reading up on history before you stick your uneducated oar in. Start with the ethnic cleansing known as the 'Highland Clearances'. During this atrocity, the english landlords decided that it was more productive to rear sheep than have tenants in the Highlands. Notice given to tenants? None. Instant eviction. With nowhere to go, they took to ships to The Americas & Antipodes with only the clothes they stood in, and little food or water (initially they could take money, until the english government discovered this & took it from them). Tens of thousands of Scots died in the process. To this day, there are strong Scottish communities throughout the world due to this war crime. But no, the english are all very correct gentlemen, aren't they?

I fully understand, you are British when it suits and Scots when it suits.
You are quite right of course Scotland is a part of Britain but a separate country within Britain.
Post 433 quotes me using the term our country and I am sure you are not that thick that you did not realise that I meant England as opposed to the collective Britain.
To answer your last question, but of course we English are all very correct gentleman aren't we.
What kind of answer do you expect from a very arrogant Englishman who has Scots blood in his DNA<doh>

I knew exactly what you were talking about. But why should I respond to what I consider to be an insult? Perhaps if I called you Nazi 'cos that's what I consider english to be, you'd be ok with that? Thought not.

I don't as it happens (although the EDL do tempt me).

Just to be pedantic, despite what you might think, english is not a race.

Well I'm pleased that you don't think the English are a bunch of Nazi's.
My offering was not an insult by the way, should have realised how sensitive you are.
