Raab is refusing to be Brexit minister. As she becomes more Toxic, she and Ollie Robbins will be performing all roles!

Ps no, I'm wrong about Rabb he's still on board for now. But other ministers will go

Cheer up, we can at least expect a Bromance with Trump, and unlike Macron, they won't engage in the kissing stuff

Congrats to you Stan for even trying. Not had to be in the situation myself, but my wife had a woman collapse on top of her during an aerobics class about 18 months ago, completely out of it. Thankfully Mrs Monkey is a qualified nurse, figured out what was going on and started CPR immediately, getting the instructor to call paramedics. Plenty of on-lookers, but no-one pitched in to help. When the ambulance crew turned up and took over, they had to use the defibrilator 2 or 3 times, but got the woman back, and she now lives a relatively normal life (I'd imagine she doesn't frequent aerobics classes any more though). The medics and surgical team at the hospital said she would've been dead without my wifes intervention. Having worked on the surgical wards, she was accustomed to people arresting, but similar to 999s story she didn't have the crash trolley or breathing apparatus to use, so had to go full on with the breathing as well as the compressions - says she ached for days after and found it quite traumatic, but thankfully everyone is ok now.

Agree that it should be part of the school curicullam - I have to revalidate every couple of years for work as I'm in remote areas a lot with no easy access to medical facilities, but it should be far more common in normal industry I believe.

We need a Government of National Unity
Apparently David Davis (a man who has been described as someone who could swagger whilst sitting down) has only managed 4 hours of negotiation this year. He won't be missed at all.

There was a time I wanted him as leader over Call Me Dave. What was I thinking?

I heard that, I don't know if It's true but what is true is that Robbins has been doing the negotiations and reporting to May. Davis and the rest of the Cabinet knew nothing of the latest white paper proposals until a day before Chequers. And the phone confiscating and taxi cards went down really badly.

It must be very satisfying though to do it successfully. I knew straight off this morning that it was a lost cause, but you have to give it a go.

For May to be as poor as she has been in this era of awful politicians on all sides is quite a ****ing achievement!

I’d be more wound up about everything if I thought there was someone out there who could do a half decent job, and get a chunk of the country behind them. As it is I think we’re ****ed (and not just on Brexit, on leadership in general) whichever way I look, might as well hunker down and try to ride it out without letting it get you down.

If I was a Brexit voter who knew what they were voting for I would be hugely pissed off though. At the risk of being even more irritating than usual, and in an Ellers like ‘I told you so’ kind of way, if you were daft enough to look pages back in this thread you would see that I’ve been predicting that Brexit voters would end up the most disappointed for some time. I told you so.

Let’s cut to the chase, hard Brexit or no Brexit.

Well done Stan for being both brave and decisive.

I'd admit that I might well freeze in such a situation but, having seen an old guy get pushed over backwards in an altercation outside a pub and getting knocked out as his head hit a wall, know that I would at least call an ambulance as I did then, (given the pleas of the couple that found you). I would need the help of the emergency switchboard to prompt me into any more useful action despite being vaguely aware of what to do.

It takes a lot to keep your wits about you in that situation and you did just that.

That's why there must be another referendum. The Tories are incapable of delivering a deal, so there can be no 'meaningful vote' in parliament. The alternatives have become as straightforward as you suggest - a no-deal hard Brexit or no Brexit at all.

It turned out that the couple had phoned the emergency services but lacked the language to say what was up and where they were. So at one stage I had my phone to one ear and their phone to the other, talking to two different call handlers. We sorted that through and the original one I had called was very good indeed at advising what to do and how to do it.

Not really brave Matt, I might have reacted very differently if there was a lot of blood or it was a child in an RTA. I think panic would have set in then.

    Hard brexit.
Won't happen though as it's been fudged and those of us who wanted to leave the EU (only nearly 17 and a half ****ing million of us!) have been betrayed.
At least all the Tory haters will be pleased as the voters will anhialate them for this.

Every cloud Col and all that. No but in all seriousness nobody, leavers/remainers get what they truly wanted. Its just another massive stain on UK politics in general.

What a thought. Seem to recall quite the opposite. At least they're not going to be holding hands
