Well if it was just us doing last minute deals i would tend to agree with you, but it seems every PL club goes into a frenzy the last couple of days for some reason, also last season with Gyan there was the World Cup to think about.

What I dont get about this transfer window is the internationals, most good players will be half way around the world by now, OK they have agents (which most of us want to get rid off), I just dont understand why there are Internationals the week the transfer window closes, just seems daft to me.

I whole heartedly agree about stopping the slanging.
There's a lot of slanging by stealth going on as well mind.
The thing for me is Scatty, if a fellow Mackem has a point to make.
Should they not be allowed to air that opinion even if it put's a "negative" slant on things?
I personally, force myself not to respond in certain threads, as there is no way I could post anything even close to positive.
If I did respond I would be put straight back in the BOB's. (I defy anyone to trawl through all the ****e I post and find me saying "Bruce out!")
As Sunderland supporters, we all disagree about players, It amazes me people still defend Ricco, yet I don't abuse them for it.
The way certain posters go on, no one should be allowed to say anything, unless it is positive. By that I mean coincides with their stance.
As has been said this is a football forum, you would be hard pressed to find two people who agree about every detail of SAFC, Players, Tactics, incomings out goings.

The people who have a problem with certain threads could just ignore them. <ok>
But that would stop them having a go at someone else's opinion.
But then they could start threads with the sole intention of having a go at other Mackem's.

Without debate football forums are about as much use as Facebook. :p

Do you reckon that if they equated our meat jokes to a football team we would make a topside?

I think this'll teach me to post on a thread just before I have to go into a meeting.

The point I was raising, had nothing to do with your feelings on the manager, it's about how you view the state of the club generally.

Some only look at the positives (i.e. the wins) and take heart from them as a sign the club is moving forward. Others only look at the defeats and see that as an absolute negative no matter what. I looked at everything going on, not only at the minute but over Bruces tenure as a whole. So generally we have 3 camps, and we as a forum in general cannot keep everyone happy. We all have things to get off our chests, talk about tactics get's round to BOB/BIB, talk about transfers gets round to BOB/BIB everything about our club is driven by the board/manager/players so we can't avoid talking about Bruce)

MR I take your point about insults in stealth, and I'll hold my hand up to that one, but my insults by stealth are generally in banter to people who (in my opinion) can take it, as opposed to others who are disrespectful no matter who they are talking to. The outright abuse because you think another's opinion is bullshit is completely wrong, (btw calling someone a mag, cos you don't agree with their demeanor, is imo far worse than calling them a ****, unless you can prove they are a mag trying to WUM)

This is a forum for public opinion, and our opinions drive the threads, we cant dictate the discussions of others so if you don't like what's being said don't read them. Sorry Syd, I respect you and your status as mod, but just cos you don't like the discussion topics doesn't mean I wont say my piece.

    Sorry it's long winded.

Wasn't having a go at any single person mate honest. <ok>

Too many times posters posting positively, too often totally ignore the negatives, as it doesn't suit their argument.
And then get upset when the negatives are pointed out.

    If every thread was.

    I agree. <ok>

    Well said. <ok>

    Couldn't agree more.<ok>

Just what I was thinking. <ok>

    Etc. Etc. Etc.

What a borefest this place would be.

I take it that the highlighted sentence is aimed at my jibes towards newtonlee2, and I agree entirely with the sentiments of it, and wouldn't dream of calling a fellow sunderland fan a Mag unless I truly believed in what I was saying...As I have stated, I have come to this conclusion by looking at all of his posts over a long period, and not just because of his recent bruce out rants..Between you and me, some of my best mates want rid of him and I certainly wouldn't call them Mags..
Anyway, here's a selection of a couple of his past remarks, which are typical of all of his posts.

"i hope swansea beat us to get rid of fat boy"

"there i said it ....why do i get the feeling you mags will have the last laugh again"?

.."What I will say is Newcastle currently have the better squad. Certainly up front and in midfield and I think colocini is better than any defender we have (tin hat on) even better than oshea and brown". ....

Aye, mate it was aimed at comments in this post, If you've seen more of him than I have, then fair enough, call it as you see it Must admit I haven't noticed some of the stuff you've attributed to him, but they do seem very strange, unless he really hates Bruce more than he supports Sunderland.

Just look at the comments section in his profile, they are all in there and lots more...And more to the point, there is not one positive comment regarding Sunderland in any of his posts...
As I have said, I would never dream of calling a fellow Sunderland fan what I regard as the ultimate insult of being a mag, unless I thought it had some foundation.
