Because you're advocating a line up that although they did very well at times last season ultimately didn't win anything and came a distant 3rd in the league. And now we've got to the semi final I'm dreaming of a win! I do like all the Spurs contingent in this WC squad with Trippier an absolute revelation. That said Alli, despite his goal and effort looks short of his best form maybe due to not being fully fit. I also thought Kane looked to be struggling in the last 20 minutes yesterday. He took a bash to the ribs which may explain it. I hope that's all it was.

On that basis we'll have stirling on the flank(his natural position) walker right back stones in the middle and Fabian on the left.

It worked for Manchester ( Champions) City all season it will work for England.

So, 2 more more games for England. We know we will play either France or Belgium to become Champions of the World or for 3rd place. Whatever happens in the next 2 matches for England I am so proud of the squad and staff and to be English.

Sorry mate the city argument don’t stack up. The only reason city won the league is because they spent the best part of half a billion quid. Spurs net spend 30 million. Spurs also competed with the best European sides in the champions league on a shoestring. I get your points about playing players out of position but we don’t have many options in defence and I think it was an inspired move by Southgate with Walker. It’s not the same up front we are spoiled for choice. Kane is sacrificing himself by dropping deep to support the midfield but the striking options have failed to deliver so far. At the business end of the competition we’ve got to up our game just like Belgium . To win this World Cup we need Kane up front and in the goals

Or was it because they played as a team?

Team players win tournaments not individuals, was it Kane that got spurs 3rd place or the team, was it Mo Salah who got
Liverpool 4th or the team, was it Sterlings late late goals that won city the title.? no in short it was
the team in general.

I'm guessing your old enough to remember the west ham world cup...…..

As anyone will know.who scored the goals that got england to the final in 66? It wasn’t hurst.

A team that cost half a billion. No great in my eyes. It’s to be expected with that investment.

It's not about City, spurs, Utd nor Liverpool, it's not about money...it's about England!
It's about those individuals playing together and putting pride back in to our national sport.

I don't care who scores the goals as long as they score and we as a collective progress, that's the point I'm making.
