Pickford was my MOTM. Our play wasn’t great. We did what we needed to do, was never going to be an entertaining or classy game. But they did a really professional job. They did what was needed. That’s really good to see.
While Sterling was as wasteful as ever ,he ran their defence ragged at times, making space for Young and Trippier.
Doubt we would have made it through the group stage if Hart was in goal, he definitely wouldn't have saved any penalties.
Watching this game neither teams look good, although I would rather play Croatia because then there will be no home advantage.
Whilst I wouldn't fear them, perhaps Croatia are suffering in part because they were against an apponent who sat back and spoiled a lot? Look how bad England looked for long periods against Columbia. Croatia still have some very good players and if not completely knackered after extra time will be England's stiffest test yet. With all of that said......It's coming home! Bah!
