If Chelsea were ready to season loan him to Stoke surely there's a chance he'd be allowed to go to a decent footballing top end championship team even if it was just until January. They've obviously decided he needs to be first team somewhere and obviously they'd rather it was PL but that isn't going to happen due to the rules.

This has to be worth a phone call!

Probably worth a call, but I don't see it. They paid 20 million for him and like Sturridge they want him playing at the highest level. I imagine they would prefer to develop him at home rather than pack him down a division.

I would leave him well alone, who knows anything about him for a start, and the Belgian league isnt the best in europe either !

I was pretty stunned to see he's available after spending £20mil on him tbh. I agree it's unlikely but they've obviously decided he needs games, can't see them giving him that chance. We've said we need a big man with pace to lead the line, if there's a 10% chance we should try imo.

Chelsea have been linked and therefore must have scouted this guy for over a year and decided he's worth 20mil at 18 years of age. I think it's fair to say he probably has above Championship potential.
Personally all I know about him is he's f**king MASSIVE! lol.

Sure! Let's just say no to the next Drogba ronny haha! 18 and playing for the Belgian first side, I think you may need to read the article, it should give you a bit of background..

On the other hand, being realistic. Not a chance of signing this guy. You could all stand outside Stamford Bridge waving your missus' knickers as a counter-deal, and Abramovic/Villas-Boas would still both chuckle at it.

This morning I would have totally agreed with this, but why were they going to lend him to Stoke? Quality first team football will help his development, they've decided he's not ready for Chelsea or else Stoke wouldn't have had a sniff either.

Well, he's still going to join Stoke over City.. Just like Sturridge, if he proves himself as premier quality, within the premier league, he might just be given the nod next year. I feel sorry for Sturridge, the boy could slot into so many teams, yet he's left to sit on the bench when lucky.

Chelsea would want him to learn his trade at the highest level if possible and that means Premier League. Whether he plays for Stoke or another club that's not exactly renowned for on-the-floor skills when it come to approach, is broadly irrelevant.

You learn just as much playing against skilfull sides even if you're on the pitch playing for one that isn't - that's why Villas-Boas will resist dropping him a division. The decision would revolve around whether Championship game time for 3 months will bring him on better than mixing with the quality players at Chelsea.

Having said that, if the guy wants to find out what competitive football is about, he wouldn't do better than a stint in the Championship.

Definately, if he could, but he can't join another PL team till January.

He was going to Stoke, PL rules stopped him.

With Parkin looking to be on the way out my guess is Malky already has his targets.

Its going to be a interesting 24 hours.

Good thing is there appears to be little in the way of leaking news coming out of the club.

So who knows who we will sign.

Ideally a fast right winger and a decent target man.

    Then Bellamy.

Malky has said a number of times the squad is still well short, I'm sure we have more realistic targets in the pipeline.

Seen elsewhere that Bellamy can only join on an emergency loan due to his age in the loan window. That restricts him to 93 days on loan if he's not signed by Wednesday. He could then extend the loan in the January transfer window.
