Violent play is a red card. Colombia are clear trying to rough up England. And that includes their coaches. One of them barged Sterling on the way to the dressing room. This is not the pussification of football, it is more referees being pussies in not doing the right thing.
Henderson was headbutted and went down. He was rolling around screaming but as a minimum he prevented play from continuing until at least he was ready.
Name's not astro. I have no agenda. I'm not saying it wasn't a red. I'm questioning Hendo's huge over reaction holding his face when there was no force to it, it was all on his chest. I'm also saying that I think it's daft that a player has to be on the floor pretending to be in pain to convince the ref that it warrants a replay on the VAR. What part of that is an agenda?
Saying violent play is a stretch. There wasn't a mark on Hendo. What the Colombian did was silly but you can see from the reply that Hendo was trying his best to send him off. In my opinion, that is wrong and sends a wrong message out to youngsters coming through the sport.
For me Fifa have to crack down on throw ins, that guy walked about 10 meters down the line from where the ball went out.
Anyone noticed that refs have literally outlawed quick free kicks in this tournament? Allowing players to stand six inches to stop it...
to be honest I'm well disappointed with Colombia. I thought they would bring there clever, fast attacking game but all we've got is the usual South American bullshit of ******ly fouls and cheating. I thought they'd be better than this...
Although I think it's also an inadvertent repercussion of the spray... if the ref isn't spraying it tells the oppo a quick free kick is on lol
Same here Colombia have been negative in this game, scared of England's fast players. It's made for a boring game.
