Funny as i just thought to myself during that half these Japanese players are quite nippy, no pun intended.
Imagine how Twatter would go in to meltdown if anyone innocuously said that.

Didn't have them as dark horses, had them as first choice, how wrong can you be! <doh> Japan showing such incredible energy, thoroughly deserved goals. Mamma mia, amazing. <applause>

They've been the perennial dark horses over the last 25 years Oddy. Looks like we dodged a bullet by avoiding the Japanese. They did after all beat Columbia in the Group stage, albeit a 10 man Columbia for most of the game.

Fair play to Romalu Birtles, brilliant dummy. He knew he'd miss if he had taken a shot. Cracking game.

Yes, that was a bit difficult. <whistle> A truly great game, what a World Cup this is. De Bruyne had a poor game by his standards, but came good right at the end with that run. Phew, better find a pill to take! Really thought Belgium had gone with the wind at one time. Japan were magnificent, and played out of their skins.

Excuse the pun but Kamakaze stuff from Japan at the end leaving two at the back. Belgium got out of jail there big time-Interesting game now against Brazil I but don't think Brazil will be too worried after watching that.Looking like a Croatia v Brazil final the more I look at it.Really tough game to call tomorrow for England but best of luck to my fellow England supporters:)

I ignored all the pre tournament rhetoric that Russia were the poorest home nation for many years and had no chance. They are a proper footballing nation and at 50/1 I had to have a bet.
I still feel that the winner will come from the other half of the draw but I really havent seen any side that look unbeatable.
Brazil may just be the best side in it and I reckon they might end up in a humdinger semi final with France.
France have two ways of playing and I dont trust the manager to make the right calls.
Confident England will win a tight game tonight and will make the semis where I believe they will face Russia. That will test my patriotism.
Croatia started the tournament looking like world beaters but have got progressively worse as the tournament has gone on. That second half the other night was awful beyond words.
Brazil v Russia final with the hosts winning on penalties after a 120 minute rearguard action for a 0-0 draw.
You wouldnt be totally surprised after what has gone before.

The purist in me hopes not but they have a fantastic keeper, are very organised and a huge danger at set pieces when that big lad is on up front.
    Finalists would do for me.

Provided they don't face a team that attacks with pace and precision, they may ride their luck, but I dont see it really
