I'll do you a copy mate no problem,<ok> Peter Green always gave Danny the credit he was due for his guitar work, I read that another musician said to Peter, great work on a certain track, Green replied "it wasn't me, it was the kid, he did most of the solo work"
I'll dig some of the tracks up and put them on the jukebox thread<ok>
Speaking of factoids from autobiographies (ok, loosely :D), I read Ian Holloway's book the other day. Learned 2 things, one of which everyone seems to know but me, and the other no-one would ever guess.

I never knew why Warnock was called Colin! Was I really the only one?

I now know who discovered Nigel Martin down in Cornwall & got him his first trial/contract. Anyone else know?

Because being **** for as long as we’ve been brings out a nostalgic streak.

With green there’s a sense he got a bum deal. I mean really how do you explain to someone that’s just been one of your players of the season, that you’re going to play a guy who can’t catch or kick ahead of them.

That’s my point, he didn’t back himself to be ahead of Felix, he flounced off and hasn’t played in a year. And although it’s almost blasphemy to say about an ex player, he wasn’t that brilliant, better than what we bought, but I’m not bothered about getting him back.

I think we can all agree someone dropped a massive bollock when they said Felix was No1 ahead of Green, i'm never one usually to say bring back so and so, but with Green its to help coach BPF and maybe stand in if needed.

Does he have his coaching badges?

Normally I'd agree with you. Did you read my first line?

My point is that I want to develop OUR team - not someone else's. And Green, I had assumed, had left because of his stance of being #1. I believe the circumstances of the last year may have brought him back to reality. We're not talking a has-been mug here, nor am I proposing that he is our future. It's an opportunity for us to use HIM. The revalation on this thread that the real reason he left was a bust-up with Pontus strengthens my view.

However, it appears that we're now getting the Chelsea chappie in. Whether it's a loan or a buy will indicate what their thinking is re. our young keepers.

We are talking about a has been, what Chelsea chappie? I’ve only seen the reports about the midfielder

Just catching up. Been on the piss last night. Very odd goalkeeper signing that would be considering we have BPF

Any different to the Gunn option everyone was getting excited about? Few years older than bpf and a year in the champ last season at the blunts.

I must have overdone the beer last night.
Met a former client and just to be friendly got tucked into some Belgian beer. Think I only had five or six but feeling it today.

Nah fella. He knew he was better than Felix, everyone knew he was better than Felix, but they told him he was number 2... sweeper keeper bollox ( not that Wiedwald could do that either)

Gunn was training with the England squad, played the best part of a season in the championship. The city number one is only 24 so he isn’t getting ahead of him. So if he was any good he may have joined on permanent if we went up. No idea who the Chelsea kid is

Gunn has had a season in the champ. Blackman is an ex junior international, has had 1 season in league 2 and one in the champ for the blades. Little bit older, bit more experienced than Gunn and bpf.

Unless any loan deal has a purchase option, discussions about likely availability at the end of the season are conjecture... and if he has a good season, he’s available for anyone to buy.

Blackman was hit and miss early in the season at the blunts and lost his place, but got the shirt back and finished the season well. Blades fans seem to rate him.

Don’t get me wrong, Gunn maybe looks a better prospect which is why we went for him first.... but if people want a capable keeper with some champ experience to fight for the shirt with bpf then can’t see a bundle of difference.

Personally, if you have a talented young keeper, whose inexperienced I’d think you’d prefer an older more experienced keeper alongside rather than another relatively inexperienced one whose not peaked yet but that’s just my view.

Do you think that this search for a goalkeeper is for a backup to BPF or do you think Bielsa doesn’t trust him to be our no.1?

I think most people wouldn’t entirely trust a 21 year old 10 game novice. Whether he wants a new number 1 or just competition for places I wouldn’t know.

Spot on. Not only spotted him, but went out on a limb, with zero authority, & invited him up for a trial! He was signed on the day. Hastily.

I should have guessed that if anyone was going to get this right, it would have been you, Aski. :)
