He'll bang in 20+ next season if he doesn't get a freak injury again. Marriott signing would be the icing on the cake though, if he were to come up with us and score 20+ goals in the league next season

As for Bobby Reid? **** the ****.
Don't understand the obsession with 20+ goal a season strikers. Statistically over the last 10 years you're less likely to get promoted with one than if you don't.
Have a look at the 20 goal strikers in the championship over that period and where their teams finished.
Last twice we had a player score 20+ we didn't even make the playoffs, like you.
The twice we've been promoted our top scorers in those seasons have had 11 and 9.
Better to get goals from all over.

Agree - Whilst everyone would rather have a striker capable of scoring plenty than not, it's the team effort that is important. When we reached the playoff finals it was without any particular focal point, whereas in the years since we've been blessed with a handful of good strikers (Nicky Maynard, Sam Baldock, Jonathan Kodjia, Tammy Abraham, Bobby Reid) and not reached those heights again.

They also give the opposition an obvious target.
It’s better when the goals come from all over - the opposition can’t double-up on one goal machine.

We haven't had a proven goal scorer since being in the championship yet arguably each year we've had the best striker in the league. Kodjia, Tammy and Reid. As has been pointed out, Diedhiou, had he been fit, would have likely surpassed Reid for goals, people are overlooking the fact we have him. He'll bang in 20+ next season if he doesn't get a freak injury again. Marriott signing would be the icing on the cake though, if he were to come up with us and score 20+ goals in the league next season we'd have a 20 million pound man on our hands.

Why so negative about Reid , can’t blame him wanting PL , we got a fair price , bit of a bummer going to Baadiff , but rather that than going to a rival championship side for a bohger wedge than we can offer surely ?, or is there something I missed as don’t do social media .

£10million - I can't believe it.
Last summer he'd have gone 'a free' yet our striker injury crisis forced LJ (his words) to play him up top as the first press.
Will Warnock play this way ?
I'm not so sure but Warnock is not the fool some like to believe so it will be an interesting ride for all.

Whatever, Bobby goes with my very best wishes and I wish him every success.
A great lad with amazing skill.

Pre-season will give us some idea but I feel he'll play him on the right side of a front 3 with the option to cover for zohore. Saying that, our front 3 can be quite fluid.
Agree that Colin is nobody's fool.

I agree completely but strikers that can score do more than just help get a top 6 place or promotion, if you fail that you’ve then got a prize asset on your hand everyone else will want, this time last year bobby Reid was worth about 100k, if that to be honest, one good season and we get 10 million, if he would of had 2 years left we’d of probably been asking for upwards of 15. So whilst a 20 goal a season striker doesn’t guarantee a successful league position, it helps in many other ways. Another example was Tammy Abraham and Kodjias goals keeping us in this league. Goal scorers will keep you up and can help you go up. Best to have one either way.

Can see your view point, but don't believe it is the be all and end all.
