Sweden are winning, and Germany are goalless against South Korea. If the scores stay the same Germany are out...

Afternoon All

Interesting to see it was only those that took first team training. To be honest I'm surprised Cooper is making the cut just given Bielsa's previous managerial roles and philosophies and having watched all our games from last season, one thing he likes is playing out from the back and an assured touch, while I like Coops he certainly has shown on more than a few occasions that he has the ability to have the touch of an elephant which has put us in some pretty tough spots (either rash challenge going in on the back of it or dangerous breaks).
Afternoon Pocketpro and welcome. Tbh, I'd be surprised if he was still here come August, but as someone pointed out to me, there's only 39 days to our first match...

Just quick reminder about the regulations for match day squads...

At least one "club developed "player to be included.
BPF
Vieira
Phillips
Pearce

In addition 8 " home grown players " to be included.
Ayling
Cooper
Forshaw
Dallas
Roofe
Roberts

Also a maximum of 5 loan players in the match day squad.

You mean 3-3-3-1 . Think we’ll see Alioski wide right, Dallas wide left and number 10 will be a toss up between Saiz and Pablo with a loan striker. Forshaw the central midfielder in the bank of three who sit in front of the defenders, up for grabs each side of Forshaw. Will depend if Bielsa goes with what would look like attacking full backs or wide midfielders, maybe drop Dallas back and play Roofe attacking left, depends who we sign

Jeez I hope not. Any side starting with Dallas and alioski in the wide roles, needs more than a coaching genius to get them promoted... they need help from above.

Start praying brothers... I beleeeeeeive

Hopefully you are reading too much into today’s training.
If that’s right Belgrano is as bad as what went before and I will offer to run him to the airport in late September when he leaves.
Hopefully he has trained those that are fit as opposed to doing nothing but the reality is we are going to bin all this ****e and get some quality.

Wow our new coach certainly means business.

Only 12 players involved in first team training today.

BPF

Ayling
Beradi
Pearce
Cooper

Forshaw
Siaz
Hernandez
Alioski
Dallas
Phillips
Roofe

Vieira at TA but not involved today due to England duty over the summer.

That leaves Roberts (injured or doing rehab)

And Pontus (WC)

The rest...thank you and goodbye ?
Cooper a bit odd unless it is to do with his popularity / respect from the other players.

Although Berardi is bang average at best, I never groan when he plays, obviously very limited with anything attackwise but solid enough (said as much himself). Dallas, same really, not going to win player of the year for anyone at this level but doesn’t scare me.

The one that I really hope changes my opinion under the General is Alioski. Had a season to look at the Championship and, hopefully, realises a good haircut and desire for an Oscar does not make the player.

Other than that, think MB has told the select few they have a chance and told AR we need a really good half dozen additions to be at the races.

You could be like the Norwich fan that tore his season ticket up after the first game of the season after a humping by Colchester (I think) the year they went up.

Could go viral, imagine all the Do Gooders going potty “look, they’re leading that poor old fecker away and no-ones bothered with his stick or his dog” <laugh>
