    It's not you, this time.

    :bandit:

It's ridiculous mate. It shows how people are so out of touch with reality. Everyone's become so used to the obscene amounts of money footballers earn that they've just become numbers.

If Utd offer Lyon more than us for Fekir he's going to Man Yoo, if us and them both offer the same fee he'll choose Man Yoo because he'll double what he'd get at LFC in wages.
Should have got the deal over the line when the opportunity was there.

There is always the chance Maureen is just stirring the pot so Lyon demand more from us because of his interest.<laugh>

It has become grotesque with fans justifying that players "need" pay rises because they are only in the game for a short amount of time. They're not talking about 3rd division footballers here but Premier league players, millionaires no less. An average PL player that earns more in a week than an average person does in 2 years. Or other conversations that players deserve a pay rise from £100k to £150k a week like it's nothing. Players getting paid £50k a year is ****ing generous when you're playing football for a living. Crazy.

The reason we didn't push the transfer through was either because he does have a dodgy knee and it put Klopp off or Lyon tried to up the price at the last minute, again, put Klopp off. The only way we'll be back in for him imo is if the price is dropped as there's no way we'll enter a bidding war.

Some footballers earn in a few months what most ordinary people earn in a 50 year working life, and yet are supported by the very fans who are getting screwed at the gate all the time in order to maintain them.
The "short career" argument is absolute bollocks - unless they're total morons they can retire in their mid 30's as multi millionaires and swan about for the rest of their days.
I've stayed out of the Shaqiri debate because I don't feel I understand the politics involved well enough to offer an informed opinion.
However, it's just absurd imo, that this crowdfunding scenario has developed.

Absolutely agree, the whole short career argument is total bollocks. Also, you're being generous with them needing to retire by mid 30's, they could retire after a few years in their 20's and live more comfortably than the majority who need to work their whole lives. The average PL footballer salary is £50k, that equates to around £2,642,508 annually. That is more than most people earn in a life time, which they could retire from - buy a good house, car and invest for the future. So in reality, they could retire after one year as long as they don't indulge in Kanye West style party's and invest sensibly, like buying and renting out houses as an example.

lads, who really cares. This el presidente of Lyon has been talking non stop since the deal collapsed. It all smells of desperation to shift the guy.

I doubt mourinho even enquired about the guy TBH. It just smells of naughtiness..... like that film rob roy.. i love the smell of quim in the mornin.

The questions have to be asked after world cup

    1. did he fail a medical?

    2. was a fee ever agreed?

    3. are we in for him or not?

We have no idea why deal fell through but the player was allowed do interview with LFC tv and be photographed so that suggests clear access and medical was done at same time. I would presume as a result wages etc were agreed but something stopped this and we don't know what.

We can't risk a busted player that i do know. Aquilani to cole to carroll to sturridge. they all hold us back and we can't carry them unlike others.

All the noise coming from Lyon. Still think we will get him.

    Definitely have him over Asensio.

Naby Keita - our new number 8.

I can’t wait to see him play for us. The PL isn’t ready for him.

I am like Switzerland.. i have no opinion on the matter.

But it does feel like an awful lot of noise from a club who were expecting a windfall.

Naby Keita to complete Liverpool transfer on July 1

Naby Keita will officially complete his transfer to Liverpool Football Club on July 1.

The midfielder will formally become a Reds player on Sunday after a deal was reached with RB Leipzig for his services in August 2017.

Keita, who has signed a long-term contract with Liverpool, will begin pre-season training on Monday at Melwood when the players not on international duty are due to report to begin preparations for 2018-19.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: “When you see how they performed last season it makes me want to do the same and to be a part of this team. I would like to be able to achieve a similar kind of season with them next season – but even better.

“I chose Liverpool because it is a team I watched often - and I also spoke a lot about it with Sadio [Mane]. He told me a lot about the team and the club.

“I also spoke with the coach, who told me about the project for the team and that motivated me to be here.”

The 23-year-old moves to Anfield after two seasons with Leipzig, during which he scored 17 goals in 71 appearances for the Bundesliga side.

Keita, who also has 29 caps for Guinea, will take the No.8 jersey

Keita could have the same impact on our midfield as VVD had on our defence.

One of the most all rounded midfielders currently - only thing lacking is his height!

It’s actually unreal that we already have Fabinho and Keita! Our midfield is almost completely upgraded. We will be a force next season I reckon ...

Some people are happy living in a decent house, watching what they spend, food shopping at Aldi, driving a corsa.

But some people want more - they want a big house, cars, enjoy the finer things in life, holidays.

Just because some people are content with having an average life doesn’t mean that others shouldn’t aspire to want more.

The Welcome Naby video's are all doing the rounds I see.

Nice little touch that Gerrard personally met with him to give him the number 8 shirt.
