Wouldn’t he just mate. That said I kind of admire when people stay true to their heritage, fair play to him for that.

I don’t want us to start throwing passports at folk like France and Germany though, I’m far from against immigration but I won’t open that can of worms, I’d be against giving folk citizenship on the cheap though, even if it benefitted is in sports.

To be fair, sport in England is thriving at all levels, we are getting it right. More support needed from the Premier League at grass roots level, but look at the young teams, dominating.

It’s a good time for us, not a team with no back up developing but layers of players. Long overdue.

A lot of academies, like our own, sprung up 12-15 years ago and we are starting to see the rewards.

Well it’s a ****ing money pit by all accounts, and as long as provisions are made I don’t see the harm.

I like the idea of England playing around the country, it’s a magnificent place as we all seen the other year and I don’t object to it being used to it's full potential.

Far as I see, if it’s private owned and not a drain on public finances, why not?

It will still be Wembley no matter what.

Surely personnel attacks on people you disagree with just weakens your augment. Stick to the facts and recognise that they are debatable

I have briefly visited Colombia, a long time ago now, and yes the women are something else, always followed their team too and if its characters your after, they don't come up short either. Like to see us go up against them tbh. may as well.

So tell us what Southgate should have done then? You told me I was wrong as you're not a boo boy for SAFC yet I replied and you ignored my comment - you picked his subsitutions as a negative. You also picked the fact that we were lucky to draw the second half as a negative. Why are these two things negative? I understand it's your opinion but I'd be interested to see what it's based upon - as @Nads said, the subs were made to give people a run out in a game which was over. To rest the "big game" players too. As for the "We only drew the second half" - well when you win the first half 5-0, why is it negative to draw the second half?

Allardyce was on the radio this morning basically stating that there was nothing negative in that performance - someone rang up and made a similar point to yours and Allardyce said "If it'd have been 1-1 or 1-0 then you wouldn't have seen that second half performance. Players are all, in a tournament this big with as many games so close together, going to take their foot off the gas when a game is won"

They call it game management. Southgate got it spot on. Why waste unnecessary energy and risk a possible injury when the game is won at half time?

Pretty sure those reports were incorrect. They thought he was eligible as grandparents held British passports but they would need to have been born here for him to qualify, which they weren't.

I cant tell you what he should have done, but I can tell you what I think he did wrong, he should have left Kane on and took Sterling off, he should have replaced a right back with a right back. He should have played Dier not Delph, he should have played Rashford and not Vardy, this would have given us a much more solid look as none of his subs worked imo, Rose and Delph led the way in loosing possession under no real pressure at all other than the fact that they always try to play high tempo, when under the circumstances we needed to close the game down and retain the football. Henderson (the captain after Kane was taken off) led by example in this respect so may have been following Southgate's instructions, but taking free kicks quickly when you are five goals ahead come on, surely not. Could you really see Big Sam condoning this at club level, not the one I know. No other serious team in this competition would have played this way of that I am certain. We played like we were losing not cruising at times. There are at least 8 teams left in this competition who will tear us apart on that second half showing.

So you’re suggesting we needed to slow the game down and protect a 5 goal lead? No way mate.

He used players he’s less likely to need against Belgium and kept Dier and Rashford fresh.

There was absolutely no gain to keeping Kane on, we all called that ‘soon as Kane gets hattrick he be off’.

Southgate was bang on for me. You don’t need to retain ball and close game down 5-0 up against minnows.

Hope I’m right? We won 6-1 mate with minimal effort. We saved energy that we didn’t need to expend.

We neither lost nor gained anything with the changes on the day and we kept players fresh. I’m not sure what Southgate has supposedly got wrong whilst we broke records?
