If we beat Stoke it puts us 10 points clear of them (Stoke currently in 11th with 30 points) However if we lose it could pull us back into the pack. We need to go all out for the win on Saturday, let's home we get a strong ref, willing to punish Stoke at home. Plus it puts the pressure on Liverpool against Chelsea. We definately need a physical presence in the middle of the park.

    Haway the lads!

I’m sure it’s going to be a bruising encounter.
If the lads really do have their sights firmly on Europe then they really need to start turning over these lesser teams.
I know that Stoke are a difficult team to play football against because they try not to allow you to play football.
Given the performance against chelski, where we stand (i.e. 6th), how far we’ve come and along with the new signings it really has to be three points in the bag.

    Bookies' probabilities:

    45% Stoke win
    30% Draw
    25% SAFC win

So a 55% probability of us getting something from the game according to the blokes in the sheepskin coats and Mercedes.
I would take a draw TBH.

Aye, I think we miss big kenwyne more for his presence when defending corners, than we do as a striker.....

Muntari will hopefully add some steel in the midfield.

    Hendo, Muntari, Steed, Richardson

Just by saying you like Sunderland and I don't means I win any argument.

A draw would not be good Enough if we are serious about Europe or am I running before I can walk?

A key point about saturday will be how Bramble and Anton cope with the aerial threat that Stoke will provide. We did not do to well against the skunks! I would also like to see the fullbacks and a midfielder drop back so Gordon can roll the ball out to them , not every ball has to be hoofed towards Elmo. It is bad news about Catts and Meyler, Hendo subbing for them on tuesday did not prove a hit. The young man has talent but it is not as a defensive central midfielder. TMH our bench on Tuesday was not exactly awe inspiring. We are definitely short of bodies until we get everyone fit. Chelsea would have blown most teams away in the 2nd half mind, but with Terry telling Halsey what decisions to make, dodgy penalties and poor linesman, what a night.

Still we could bounce back but if as with the skunks we get sucked into a hoof-ball game we may come away with nothing.

We have to win this game, it's as simple as that. It won't be a classic, but if we win, I'll be happy.
    2-0 to the lads! :)

If we have any hopes of qualifying for a European place,we must win at Stoke.Keep the ball on the deck, and play with the confidence we played with at Chelsea,we'll be OK.Can't wait for the kick-off....the television, food and drink are already in place. My grandson and I can't wait to start celebrating!!

We have some difficult games coming up and i would have liked a striker in place. I will be going to the game although it is not one of our best hunting grounds.
A 1-0 win would be great and alot depends on which kenwyne turns up the really good one or the laid back on a sunbed one

I suppose they will try to bypass our quality in midfield with their long balls. I still think we will win this game.
