No. I don't believe that that's his voice. There's a mystery shadowy figure in the background that does his talking and this is his big joke on the world. Hawking is just the poster boy.

I think the essence of the scientific method is the willingness to admit your wrong, the willingness to abandon ideas that dont work and the essence of religion is not to change anything. Supposed truths are handed down by some revered figure and no one is supposed to make any progress beyond that because all the truth is thought to be in hand. My sense is, that the scientific way of thinking, questioning, some delicate mix of creative encouragement of new ideas and the most rigorous and skeptical scrutinity of new and old ideas, I think that is the path to the future, not just for science, but for all human institutions, we have to be willing to challenge because we are in desperate need of change.

The official report is flawed by its very method, they started with the answers, and worked back in an attempt to justify them. Anything that dosent justify the already preconceived answers, is then disregarded. How that report can be accepted as scientific gospel I have no idea.

Medro - to be fair a lot of Americans think that the entire world is actually America so that's not really too bizarre a thing for such people to say......
If infact he actually said those exact words, its no worse to me, than believing in a mythical being called god who made the universe and everything in it.
But I think its actually the book that says this, and he is talking about ancient Mayan drawings that may back it up. He did not create the statement from his own imagination. He is studying the statement, and it has been twisted to try and discredit the guy. The irony is that the people who wrote the official story, the people you look to, have been widely discredited by the work they have produced, not by their beliefs.
Can you discredit David Ray Griffin or Kevin Ryan?
And if you can discredit Steven Jones's views on thermite then I will gladly listen.
