The energy was really impressive. Great to see teams taking it to the supposed big boys and getting their just rewards.
Spain, France, Germany, Argentina all unimpressive, stage looks set for Brazil to set the standard, they are now 7/2 without kicking a ball and that will probably be 5/2 after the game tonight, Switzerland have only lost 1 in their last 17 games and were good at parking the bus against Spain recently so if Brazil blow them away it will be impressive im starting to come around to Belgium and think they might be the value at 10/1 but im expecting Brazil to be hard to beat
Bloody hell, Oddy, what a call! Keep your crystal ball well polished-up, you'll make a fortune on this World Cup. After this, thinking about going to the Englischer Garten tomorrow and talk to the swans (I speak the lingo) and feed their mates the ducks. Very worried.
As the German players contemplate their shock defeat to Mexico I have 2 thoughts for them: (1) Those tattoos - you daft **** (2) You’re ****ing loaded, stop whining
So now the Germans have stumbled will the FA still want to sell the family silver to improve grassroots football like the Germans did. Or will they adopt the Mexican approach, still sell it but set a side a good chunk of it to finance the England squad partying with hookers prior to big tournaments.
Yes i watched spain, struggled to draw with a one man team, they did not impress me at all, could easily have lost the game if the portugal cf was top class instead of a kid. They can keep possession with 8 centre mids on the pitch but as i said before the tournament, cant have them winning it.
Difficult to spot hunger at international level these days - the players of the “established powers” seem to just go through the motions and the Euros recently (Portugal and a few years before Greece) show what team spirit and passion can achieve. Most of the so-called big teams have looked like they are playing a training match. The energy, passion and genius of Ronaldo could take Portugal a very long way.
weird way of looking at a penalty , the middle goal was soft , but no arguing about the free kick under those circumstances, reckon bale been given him lessons !
Glad the wheels have come off the German machine - football should be about passion and talent, not about efficiency and stats. I hope the general standard of matches improves but i already fear we are seeing tired players at the end of a long season.
You dangle a leg out in the box with Ronaldo running at you, schoolboy error. GK howler. Ronaldo back to goal 30 yards out and you foul, schoolboy stuff again.
Boring tactics now from Switzerland ...falling about...pretending to be injured etc and delaying game whenever they can..
