Sometimes you could salvage part of the potato, it depended on the size of the hole. You couldn't cook any of them in their jackets because you didn't know what was inside. I may have over-watered them.
I'll bear that in mind, FHB. I tend to water my crops during the late evening and with a watering can only.

Despicable animal and Soham child murderer Ian Huntley now “identifies as a woman”. He has asked prison authorities to refer to him as Lian.

Quite why this piece of sh1t is still alive at our expense is a mystery, but I’m sure if he wants to have his bits chopped off, there will be a long queue offering to do it for free.

Edit -

As an animal lover, I apologise to all animals for comparing them to the scum that is Huntley.

I assume this story - which is not in the public interest at all - came to us via one of the tabloid newspapers.

Whether there is any truth in them or not, grubbly little stories about what child killers or terrorist cowards get up to in prison are the main reason why I gave up buying these rags. The tabloids make these people into celebrities.

And stories like this also do the transgender community no favours whatsoever - which I suspect is another poorly hidden part of the agenda of some newspapers. To identify hated monsters with a section of society many still consider to be deviant or sick themselves in some way, just because they have an unorthodox approach to gender perception.
Encourage the view that anybody who is LGBT is slightly more similar to people like Ian Huntley than us page 3 loving straight folks.

People who are so twisted or evil that they commit crimes beyond the understanding of wider society should be removed permanently from it in order to protect the innocent, and then they should be heard from no longer. They certainly should not become a source of entertainment, or be used as pawns by press barons who whip up outrage and fear every day in order to influence the public into supporting their own political agendas.

Back to carrots:
I sowed the seeds approximately three weeks ago, and already I have a nice line of luscious green tops to admire. My main issue, however, is when will I know the carrot is ready to be picked? Will I see the orange poking up through the soil? I'm growing the Nantes variety, so they should be pretty big when fully developed.
Cheers in advance, guys.

Aren't carrots pulled rather than picked?

"The Bromley Boys"the film is a decent feel-good film. There's quite a bit of poetic license compared to the book, but all-in-all it's a heart-warming tribute to non-league football, and the real fans who support it (Hi Elfs:emoticon-0128-hi:).

The Bromley Boys - is it based on the true story of @baraettmattesvensson gorging himself in the Bromley Toby Carvery ?

Hi Elfs BTW :emoticon-0152-heart
