Anyone else worried by the news that Benayoun will be announcing his new team shortly. Him + £40m for Modric
Truth is I agree with just about everything LDL said. The most worrying thing is team and fan morale, or the lack of it. It would be a great time for everyone to be as positive as possible.
I, and others, have been saying very similar things for some time now. Truth is, that we have stagnated while Levy has been playing his stakes poker games with the chairmen of other teams. Well, he's just lost the first two hands - big time!!
It is only worth bringing in new players if they are better than those we have already. Our wage structure more than transfer fees is the big limiting factor on signing big names. Levy has a knack of of springing surprises on deadline day (remember VDV), so lets see who we have on September 1st. All our moaning will not get players signed and I am sure many other football supporters will be pleased that someone is standing up to the mega-rich clubs and refusing to take the forty pieces of silver.
Fine words. However, the reality is that we are now 9 points, and a huge goal difference, from the top. We have, once again, procrastinated whilst our rivals, apart from The Gooners, have strengthened, and settled their new signings in. If you seriously want to compete at the top level, then we are certainly not going the right way about it.
Er . . . this may be true NowsufferinSpain, and call me extremely naive, but er . . . . I was looking for the upside?? Please? Anyone?
That's more like it!! Thank you HarrysDisciple. I'm looking for all of the possible positives right now. Lord knows we need them!
How true. For the first time ever, I actually felt sorry for gooner fans and Wenger himself. True indeed. I know that Sandro, King and Gallas will make a major difference when they return. I actually think we might have won both of our first two matches if they were on the pitch. Question, who of our new signings are you most looking forward to seeing, aside from Abebayor?
I here you. I am NowsufferinginLondon. Believe. Just hoping that Levy pulls his finger out and does some good business AND keeps Modric.
Just found this on facebook and it says what we as Spurs are about. As Bill Nicholson said, "We must always consider our supporters, for without them there would be no professional football."
