I thought I had read it somewhere https://www.nottinghampost.com/news/business/ex-nottingham-forest-star-michael-144775
And potentially a 500k windfall form the World Cup and maybe a sell on from Harry.. Do us a favour you b******s, just un plug the machine and expire..
Exactly I am ****ing sick of it to be honest. Complete asset stripping. The like of Irvine will ask for a transfer this summer. It's a ****ing joke!
What happened to the days of wishing an ex player well? Good luck to the lad, gave his all even after the January transfer window debacle. Do I wish we kept him? Yes. Football is a squad game, is he good enough to be a first choice CB at a top half club? No. Is he good enough to be back up and replace an injured player? Yes, he would probably play 20 odd games, add invaluable experience. It would save us spending four weeks messing about trying to sign a replacement and then ending up with our sixth choice.
He was alright last season, I think some people are thinking about the name rather than the somewhat diminished ability. He was a great player for us and I'll give him a round of applause when he comes back to inevitably score against us. At least most of the made up transfer rumours are of us signing defenders to replace him.
He won't be as bad for Forest. Yes he got beaten physically whether for pace, strength or jumping in the air a few times but most of his giant list of howlers were stupid things like charging out at the enemy like a bull and being sidestepped, missing tackles, kicking the air, standing around in stupid places etc. Not really the type of errors you expect from an intelligent defender, and Daws ain't really thick I don't think, so no doubt his brain will start working again over the summer and he'll be POTY.
Good luck to Michael Dawson, always gave 100% for the club, pity the club didn't do more to keep him. Yes, he had some poor games, but having to play and manage 2 young full backs and Hector who was often was left wanting, he was bound to get pulled out of position. Ehab will be rubbing his hands, another one off the payroll.
I’ve heard it’s a double signing with a caravan playing just behind him. On a serious note, we can do better, however we won’t try to and won’t and replace him with garbage!
What I do think we forget about Daws'... is that he schooled Harry Maguire, Andy Robertson perhaps too... IMO of course...
It's a fair point, I just wonder whether players like Harry & Robbo credit the club, the manager/coach and or the players they played alongside with their development. I suspect it is all 3, with the main emphases on the latter two.
Model pro and a great defender. In all honesty he carried the back four last season, no wonder he made some mistakes. I think he got annoyed with the club' lack of ambition and that is why he left. Last season was a great chance to rebuild the club however boy blunder greedily failed to do so. I am putting money on us signing three out of contract players, a couple of cheap defenders and a couple of wingers on loan when Grosicki goes. Going to be a long summer/season
He wanted his dream move (arf) in January. He's pasted his best and was probably only worth a 1 year contract. He's done well to get 2 yrs out of forest. I bet that he doesn't play more than 50 games for them in the 2 years
He is on Talksport breakfast with big Al , only caught ten minutes on my drive in, be interesting if he says anything about City if anybody listening
For those who are slating Dawson let' just see how we fair next season with MacDonald and Mazuch in tandom in front of Mrashall. I suspect it won' be long before we are desperately wishing we had someone of his experience marshalling things.
Given how poor our number one goalkeeper will be next season, attackers won't need to get past a defender to have a decent chance of scoring. Anywhere within 30-40 yards of goal and their luck could well be in against old butter fingers.
Both of whom look like a catastrophe waiting to happen to me. Dawson was no better last season, we'll be just as ****.
Mazuch is good, he's just injured all the time. McDonald is very hit and miss, but I didn't expect anything better from a Barnsley reserve player. Dawson is on the slide, any pacy attacker won't be ****ting themselves coming up against him.
I'm surprised that we (well some of us) can afford to be 'sniffy' about losing another experienced player, given what we are going to be left with. Our demise bears striking resemblance to Blackpool's fall from the Premier League ultimately into League Two. Isn't it about time David Conn did another expose on the rancid stewardship of our club by ALLAMS OUT !!!
