Good Morning Folks What do we know so far? We know that Angus Kinnear flew to South America last week to meet Marcelo Bielsa and his representative(s) to discuss him becoming the next Leeds Utd Manager. We have now been told by Messrs Hay, Sobot and Pope (reliable sources) that Leeds are in advanced talks with the Angentine about him taking the hot seat as LS11. Let's put the pieces of the jigsaw together! Advanced talk mean that Bielsa must more than a little interested about the vacancy. This means that certain assurances would have had to be made to him regarding wages, transfer budgets and ambition. Why else would Bielsa give us a second thought? Yes, we're a big club, especially by Championship measures but someone with the pedegree of Bielsa would not be short of offers! Excusing the fact that none of us had heard of Bielsa 72 hours ago, surely it shows massive ambition. I doubt many other Championship clubs could attact him? Knowing our luck we'll loan Bielsa out to Cultural Leonesa for a season, never to be heard of again.
Why else would he give us a second thought? Because no better offer has come in and he needs the money? Because since the 8th August 2015 he has been in charge of 19 games, winning only 5 at a percentage of 26.32 that’s fractionally more than PH managed with us.
Ristac sometimes you let your hate get in the way of facts So far this season he has turned down Swansea after being in advanced takks, but the Chairman didnt do what he said hed do so Biesla told him to go do one. Hes had offers from Italy, Spain, Mexico China and more. Plus he doesnt need the money ffs. He is due in Mexico on Monday to speak at the opening at another of his football coaching schools
Now known that the club have been in negotiations with Biesla for at least the last 3 weeks as that was when the Mexico National oach went to see him to ask for some tips before going to the World Cup. He told him thta he had been offered a chance to take Leeds Utd to the Premier League and was happy..
Because I have a differing opinion than yourself it doesn’t mean I hate him, I can’t see it working but I hope I’m wrong. I’m looking at it logically, why does he want to join a below average Championship team who has a DOF that is questionable? I’m just not wetting myself with excitement like some are, I’m in the let’s wait and see camp. It was the same with Klich, what was his nickname? Same with the Jap guy, I just smile at how much straw grasping there is sometimes. Oh and he turned Swansea down or they didn’t persue him over wage demands.
I’ll try my hardest I’m not for or against this new guy, it’s either a very brave gamble or a disaster in the making, I’m just not getting as excited as some as for me I see more reasons why it won’t work than will but we’ll see
I agree Ristac, like you it's a wait and see too. I'll back whoever comes in(well up to a point). Our Leeds hating last manager I never wanted in the first place. It seemed an odd appointment at the time.
I didn’t want Evans, Monk, TC or PH - I still think Monk got a bit lucky, I was impressed with Evans he won me over, TC proved he was doing a decent job when you compare him to PH We either need massive funds or we need a coach with experience of what it takes to get out of this division, I’ll give this guy a chance but I’m not holding my breathe unless we have a change at the top and the quality of our signings improve.
I know you failed math but you said his last 3 seasons, that's 1+1+1 get someone to tell you how many that is.
I don't know about you, but I was mentally drained after the long season. But I've started to get the interest back again and can't wait to see if anything happens over the next few weeks.
Exactly how I feel/felt, I have that feeling that something is happening behind the scenes with the Yanks, I’m bewildered at the treatment of PH and why not get shot sooner and WJ posted some food for thought on that. I was positive for 80% of last season, I’m still on Rads side, he is making mistakes but he is certainly the best we’ve had in 15 years? After being so close under Monk and making the start to last season that we did it was like a kick in the balls. I was glad the season was over, for a couple of weeks I avoided most the rumours, I wasn’t on here much and I was just fed up with allowing something I have no control over (Leeds Utd affairs) to affect my life. But just as I started coming back and catching up with who we are supposedly after we sack PH and get investment from the Yanks. My feet are on the ground, I want the new coach signing out the way and us to get on with some signings who might excite us all.
