EFL survey of approx 33,000 fans says 94% want the choice of standing or sitting, with 69% saying they would personally prefer standing.

Matter of when not if now surely?

I hope you're right fella. I've been actively campaigning for this through the FSF (football supporters federation) for around 8 years now. They have done a lot of good work presenting safe standing tech to ministers etc, but they have all had a reactionary stance due to Hillborough. I think the time is coming though, even the old resistant attitudes are softening. The swell of support for this will eventually make it happen <ok>

When I go to non League we have the choice of standing or sitting.

I always stand. Love it.

I'm lucky enough to have stood on the old North Bank at Highbury as a Yoot. Yes some of those old grounds and terraces were dangerous (not so much at Highbury) but, some of the grounds I went to as an away fan were genuinely scary. But, nothing beats the atmosphere of the terraces. My personal opinion is that the single biggest thing you could do to improve the atmosphere at grounds is to introduce safe standing <ok>

****ing hope so, mate.

Think I’ve said before but my ST at the new ground is in the designated area for safe standing if it all gets approved so I’ll be buzzing if it gets the go ahead.

I remember getting carried twenty yards in one direction them 20 in another whenever a goal was scored. Women in the Milton Road end at the Dell actually got pregnant when Mick Channon scored.

Might not have been such an issue at Highbury, as in those days you only ever won 1-0 :emoticon-0105-wink:

I had a few pretty scary experiences most notably the Clock End (but it was a quarter final), White Hart Lane and working a Challenge Cup Final at Wembley. In all cases they sold too many tickets. I rather suspect anyone over 40 that was a regular match goer has a similar memory.

I'm in favour as long as they have the proper controls but will continue to sit. That's more to do with being a grumpy old bugger these days rather than any genuine fear!

I genuinely don’t get why you’re so against it after it’s all been explained to you in such painstaking detail every time you came out with something inaccurate on the issue. You live on the other side of the world. What difference to you?
Because you will be long buried before you see it at a premiership game.

I don’t know if they’re bringing it into rugby, Ginge.

Your answer makes no sense given the question, however.
It makes every sense my dear pikey. A) being a QPR fan you’ll probably be dead before they get into the Premiership and B) You’ll wait an equal amount of time to see safe standing in the Premiership too.

As for why you’ve pulled rugby out your arse could only be explained by being pissed again.

Because Premiership is a rugby term, Ginge. We’ve been through this before and as usual you replied with non-sensical rants.

Your response still makes no sense as to the question of why you care so much about something which will have zero effect on you.

No the premier league is also called the premiership pikey as previously proved by a screen shot. Whatever your view is on safe standing is NOT the view of everybody. Have you considered politics where people are allowed to subject their will despite not being wanted.
