You know, I’ve been away for along time. Brought my nz family back a couple of weeks ago for a month. Despite the doom and gloom often pushed to the fore in the media I had a wonderful time in the uk. I was reminded of what great people there are, how wonderful my family are and how much there is to be proud of in the uk. The exception being the desperate Homelessness and begging in every city we visited and the lone ****ing idiot from London trying to start a fight in the food queue at the Man U arsenal game at old Trafford. He was a twat and if my 7 and 9 year old hadn’t been with me I would have lamped him myself. Overall. Well done you lot. 8.5/10
I would call the tendancy to turn everything from sport to politics to religion into a form of showbusiness, one of the iffy parts.
Me too,but less polite I'm afraid. I agreed with Godders only I did tell them. What persuasion and what cock size I am are **kin stupid Questions.
Could have spent a lot of time moaning about the club but as the survey was predominantly about match atmosphere and facilities etc I tried to focus on that. Highlighted a couple of times that if they’re looking for a better atmosphere then get rid of the drummers and clappers (because that just creates noise rather than chanting and atmosphere) and bring in safe standing to stop us all (in the Northam) standing unsafely. Noted that the reason the last few games had a really good atmosphere was because we almost got relegated but just stayed up, not because of paper clappers. Not sure they should look for almost going down each season to get the fans going. Oh, also, get rid of Carlsberg, lower the prices and show the early kick off on TV if you want more people in the ground before the game.
It gives the club more reason to lobby for it and come up with ideas to implement it so there is a point.
It can be important to discover details about the person providing answers...it may show up that you are failing one particular group of people or that only one group is completing the form.
Well no because the want for it is growing and the more clubs who publicly declare interest and willingness to trial the more it will put the pressure on and speed it along.
For example attracting people who are Afro Carribean, and people from the Asian community who live in South Hampshire.
Well a quick wander around just before kick off would answer that, and what does that have to do with their claimed "better atmosphere " survey? Several stupid questions, my sexual preference only makes for a better atmosphere if they invite me onto the pitch at half time to let me demonstrate it/them/insert your own. Ooh ere missus!
For example a gay person might find chants about homophobia to be bad atmosphere while straight people don't mind it. By having questions like that you can tell apart an isolated incident, for example one person hearing a homophobic chant, from a serious problem where atomosphere has a significantly lower scoring among gay fans. Thats just an example off the top of my head. Often the statistics you find from these things aren't actually the ones you were looking for when you came up with the questions, but that's part of the point of having them.
