You can still pre-order the commemorative coin for the summit on the website for the White House gift shop. The redesign (to include the President of South Korea) hasn't been announced, but if it includes Kim's many chins and Trump's neck flab, as the original did, I don't think that I can turn down the opportunity to own a piece of history-that-wasn't for $20 USD.

Boris did; he wanted to give Trump the Nobel Peace Prize.

Hold on to that - it might be worth $25 dollars one day.

Not sure about that...so many people had the same thought that the gift shop website has been virtually impossible to load since yesterday afternoon. The masses know a good deal when they see one.

Stop hoarding bottlecaps, we have a new official post-apocalyptic currency.

Exit polls suggest that the Irish abortion ban has been repealed by a massive margin.

Only up to 12 weeks, any later I'm guessing will only be for medical problems for baby or mother

Indeed. Still not ideal -- there are plenty of issues that can crop up thereafter that effectively render a pregnancy nonviable, and it's not clear that is covered -- but progress.

It's as if Ireland is moving confidently into the 21st Century just as England retreats back into the 19th.

Yeah, but America I think is following an established pattern whereby it undergoes massive upheavel and internal strife, before moving confidently forward again. It always has done up til now anyway.

Except with the loonies now in charge of the asylum there, there’s a risk of such long term damage they may never get it right again.

Maybe - but I doubt it. They'll keep getting loads wrong, if course. But I think they'll keep moving forward.

I'm not feeling anywhere near as optimistic about dear old Blighty's future, unfortunately.

A ray of hope for this English expat living in The Hague with my Indonesian wife. George Soros backing a campaign for a 2nd referendum on Brexit. The Guardian article is worth a read.
