we needed the intensity to.match them and we really sat off for 5mins there after mane goal.it was there and then it was gone again.
To be fair to Karius, despite his two collosal blunders, he did make a couple of fantastic saves. I don't know that that cancels out his blunders... But only fair to point out.
Pissed off but hey, CL finalist when we thought getting out of groups was the achievement. Exvuting football, wonderful season with a squad which lets be fair, shouldn’t be anywhere near the CL final and even getting top 4 ahead of chelsea. Stregthen in tr summer and we go again next year. Other than you know who, can’t fault anyone today. Thought everyone played well, solid, performance, defence were great, midfield hassled well, kept the ball and all this without our best player.

We were fine until Salah went off, or Lallana came on.. we all spoke about the Madrid experience and it came through today. Salah was a big loss, but it showed up the mentality of our team, we stop playing, we dropped 20 yards deeper and our heads drop. You can't have that mentality in a final against a team as ruthless at this.. Klopp couldn't get them together but what can you do when the keeper chucks the ball in to the net twice.. oh well, another year and final without a trophy but at least we were able to have that final day experience again.
Look the fact is that we have been trying to fix our defence on the cheap for almost a decade until january when finally splashed out on VVD. We haven't had a decent keeper since Reina's 2nd to last season here, and that incompetence has cost us tonight, just like it did 2 years ago, just like it did 4 years ago, and it will continue to cost us until it's rectified.
Did he? Had 2 efforts right at him that just pushed away. THre one from Ronald I was right at him and he palmed it out into middle again like he did v Roma. Hes been decent 2nd half of this year but he almost conceded v Roma in first leg with exactly same thing as he did v bale today and get away with it. The guy is as prone to errors as mig and he cost us today unfortunately. How he comes back from that, who knows.
all tried their best. can't ask for more. Ronaldo never got a sniff. they were rocking but thar mental fragility came back again. the minute salah went off we were back on the edge of our own box. mentally that's just not right.
I have to wonder if lallana started would he have not stayed on til end I'd still think we should have had him off and solanke on just for donkey ball. he tried his best but he just wasn't up to it
Salah went off against City and we played crap. Went off against Roma and we went to sh!t. Went off tonight and the same again. We need cover for him and Mané desperately
Disagree, we say back and looked to hit on the counter for a bit, then we pressed for a bit. You can’t press 90mins in that heat in that game. We managed the game well. We scored, we hit the post. Madrid scores a worldie and 2 freak goals. Another day, Karius throws the ball properly, Bales attempt goes into row Z and Karius just catches the 3rd. We played really well, can’t complain about anyone.
Unlucky lads, you went further than I thought you would, you just don't have enough to match the Spanish Giants, Bale had a reasonably good game...............
Disagree. We didn’t play crap. We played well, we weren’t as threatening but we scored without him and managed Madrid. Lets be frank, bar Robbos tackle on Robaldo, Madrid didn’t create a chance all game.
Honestly we suffered from depth. When Ox was injured we lacked a decent backup. When Salah went off we had no alternative. We're not going to fix that overnight, but with possibly Fekir coming and Keite on the way perhaps we've already patched those holes. We really need another good CB and a keeper. Solve that and next year is our year. #inthebag
Start again next season, disappointing end but we're a team again and I'll be looking forward to next season.
