Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

The bidding for the broadcasting rights to the wedding was fierce but was eventually won by Quest with Colin Murray anchoring the events. Huw Edwards will be expected to buy a ticket to the viewing gallery along with the rest of general public.

There will be a Battle Royale between various high ranking religious figures and TV evangelists to decide who can perform the ceremony.

The weather is not predictable, the Football League's scheduling is not predictable but both Ipswich Town and QPR's inability to make the playoffs has been.

    Thanks again,
    Matt

I’d be more inclined to watch it than the royal wedding. Especially if there’s a bit of aggro between the two sides.

I was working Saturday morning, showing some tourists around Paris. Some of them asked if I was sad to miss the wedding. I really wasn't. Two people I will never meet, and don't know, got married. Afraid that summed up my excitement. My wife was not impressed.

Congrats Matt, hope the big day goes well and you are off somewhere nice together to relax, and enjoy talking about other things than weddings.

Away from the wedding of two well off people.......just seen a report on the opening of the Grenfell enquiry and some of the tributes paid to the victims by their loved ones, including a fathers emotional tribute to his stillborn son....truly heart breaking and almost moved me to tears.
Will justice ever be served ?
    I doubt it

It's a good start to let survivors and families tell their stories. Just have to take care proceedings don't linger on without a conclusion

Agreed mate. I do think it’s very important to be able to put a human face to many of the victims otherwise they just become numbers and names......Same goes for most disasters of this scale I guess.

Yes, and I also think it's important for family members to feel they have some input into the proceedings and a means of monitoring progress through to the inquiry judge's final report

Congrats Marty boy on the journey ahead. Bon chance.

Interestingly, just listening to radio london phone in, pro labour caller talking about Livingston, anti Semitism etc, then mentions Skripal case and how it all seems strangely quiet now - immediately shut down. We mustn't talk about the Skripal affair.

Trump 'pulls out' of North Korea summit

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-44242558

Well actually, Kim Jong-Un had already said he wasn't going to meet with Trump, both he and Moon Jae-In have said the talks between them had nothing to do with anything Trump did, and after Pence chimed in with his hot-headed statements likening the actions and downfall of Ghaddafi in Lybia to the current NK situation, it was clear there would be a response.

Trump, Pence, and the whole Republican government is dangerously unhinged. Let's hope that the mid-terms changes the balance and manages to rein him in until Mueller finishes the job of removing him from office.

    Brexit madness update.

It seems that Max-Fac - the alternative to the Customs Union favoured by Rees-Mogg and his band of loony extremists - could cost £20bn a year to operate. This is of course twice the current cost of our being in the EU. At the same time, the Health Foundation tells us that the NHS will need an extra £20bn a year to maintain current levels of service.

Put that on the side of your ****ing bus.

But, mate, the British people narrowly voted in a referendum to leave the EU.

Yeah, I know, but surely by now the British people must realise that they were ****ing daft?

Those particular madnesses weren't put to a referendum, though. Would we have voted for them, I wonder?

  18. An interesting contrast on the news last night. Firstly it reported that Donald Trump was told by a supreme court judge that he can't block people on twitter as is against their freedom of speech. The next report was that NFL clubs have been told to drop any player who does not stand for the national anthem...

I don’t know, but the point I was trying to make is that $20bn ain’t that much dosh these days. It’s about 30 minutes of a Tony Blair after dinner speech to a bunch of Texans.

If it's what is required to keep the NHS functioning and we're going to spunk it on some crazy border system that no one voted for, just so that we can 'take back control', it's ****ing madness, Uber. These lying ****s were telling the 'British public' that leaving the EU would free up money for the NHS for ****'s sake.

    Time to stop the madness.
