That bloody Huw Jenkins had to go and stuff our squad the season you get promoted, we'll bloody never hear the end of it from that old git Sparkey now!!!.............................<laugh><laugh>






Seriously Well done on promotion lads, shame we won't be there for the derby games, still we have no debts and the parachute payments should give us the edge with the rebuild, will take us a few seasons if we are to get our total football back, though our boardroom stinks, all the best next season...................<cheers>

WBA & Stoke will be in the same boat. Only 3 can go up and it’s historically not the related trio who go back up.
Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday football with plenty of travel on the road is a hard slog. Swansea only went up last time via the back door which probability will be their best bet this time.
They’ll need a decent manager and some experienced pros not fancy dans on high wages.

Sparkey...the loan was against TV payments, which were guaranteed, as I recall. Not sure if it takes up the parachute payments but I doubt the bank would allow the club to use the money as it came in to do anything else except pay off the debt. We DO have loans/debts but, of course, they are too our good, friendly, rich and non-money-grabbing owner, who is committed to us..... and he is slowly converting them. There's loans and there's loans and there's debt and there's debt.

Furter - I knew their Barcley loan/facility was supported by projected future earnings by I don't think it was just this season's Prem revenue. I thought I'd read somewhere that there was an assumption that they would stay up there for at least another season with the associated income that would guarantee. If that were the case, now they're down, there would be extreme pressure from the bank to reduce any debt exposure.

I just wonder where the dosh they got for Sigurdsson and Llorente went - I didn't notice that they'd spent that much on replacements. Maybe the bank were getting cold feet and held it back?

I'm sure Phil will put me right......<laugh>

They spent loads of money Bony Clucas Carroll the Ayews Mesa Baston.

Expensive loans. Sanchez / Bony.

Then paying off managers every couple of months.

They could easily be next seasons Sunderland.

All they need is Chris Coleman.
 
That Barclays facility is not the only one (Santander), but they are there to cover the seasons cash flow and expenditure, the accounts balance with surplus profits, which comes from under funding the squad, talk about being short sighted aye.

I know you lads would love to believe the fiction that we have debts, but we simply do not, the problems for us have been that there has been too much money, and from that came the greedy grab and sell of our club, not too mention the lazy transfer policy that Jenkins thought he could get away with, money deals wasted on Clucass, Bony, Mesa, Boston, all add up to £55 million wasted transfers, that will now be offloaded, though we may keep Clucas.

We will realise the value of most of these players, though there will be some depreciation, Bony in particular, Messa is already in talks for a £10 million deal back to Spain, so there will be a cut of just under 2 million with him, there will be large capital sums come in as we get rid of these over inflated dross, I expect the Ayew brother to fetch the market value, Fab and Mawson also, so add to all this the £100 million received for this season, which was not all spent and the parachute payments for next season of approx £60 million, I think that financially we are okay, it’ the boardroom though that worries most Jacks, we have now got to get our transfers right, and sort out our lazy scouting system, then we should be fine in the Championship, I doubt we will bounce straight back up though.......<ok>
 
Phil....we all know you have no debt...you're not allowed coz you got no assets!!! Your surplus profits (and the related cash) come from an operating loss mitigated by transfer profits...it always has. Your Santander debt was, indeed, to cover expenditure till the TV money came in....but what TV money is talked about. That is, which season's income? Indeed, I understood that the concept of the Santander money was to allow you to get into the transfer market and buy before you sold...to stop the buggering about you had in previous windows.
I am afraid that the £100 m. you receive (or have received) is going back to the bank...this is what they lent against.
Transfers will be interesting....many of your fellow fans don't see some going or going much cheaper than you paid.
Parachute payments must be destined for next season's costs.....unless someone has a strong hold on your cost structure and can drop it quickly.

No doubt this will incur some restructuring, but there will now be an opportunity to savagely cut the PL wage bill, and I fully expect the Yanks and Jinx to do just that, after all we have very few real PL quality players left, the board sold most of them over the last 3 seasons, but in their greed, will they continue to under fund the squad even in the Championship? For me a big pointer will be who we sign as manager.......................<ok>

A big problem you will have is you have players on big wages who you dont want but wont be able to sell.

I can see you loaning players and still having to cover their wages.

Cant see anyone actually paying a fee for Bony.

Agree with gilts, it's a second keeper were after given etherdge's last season.
Can't fabianski sitting on the bench. Nor would we want to stump up a big fee or big wages. Other more pressing needs.

Given the swans are / were hugely reliant on tv money, there's a £40m hole that needs plugging. That's a lot of salaries to get off your books or half a dozen players to sell. And that leaves nothing to find new acqisitions .

A tough pre season ahead for both of us.

Your keeper is not anywhere near as good as Fab, it's why Warnock is looking at the first priority upgrade to your team, but the point is this, will Fab want a promotion battle with us or a relegation fight with you? maybe he will want neither and opt for West Ham, Newcastle, or Southampton.......<ok>

I agree that etheidge is not as good as fabianski, but it comes down to the biggest bang for your buck.
My view is that a right back, centre mid, right wing / attacking midfielder and striker are all more pressing than a keeper.
I wouldn't want Collin spending millions and a big wage tag on a keeper at the risk of not filling some of the other gaps.

As for where he plays, I think he'll have plenty of prem mid table teams vying for his services.

Fab was way 2 good for the jacks.......i would take him in his desperate attempt 2 get out of the championship....after all we can afford him now and the Jack's can't

Swansea would demand a big fee for him and I doubt Tan would sanction it.
Give Etheridge a chance although there’s transfer gossip linking us & others with Nan U’s Sam Johnstone presently on loan at Villa
