Yes. I really, really don't enjoy his commentary. Often find myself turning off when he's on. He gets things factually wrong. He commentates like cricket is still played as it was in his day. But worst of all, he gets far too into. He treats a dot ball like it's a 6; it's only a few seconds later that you discover the ball is with gully, rather than a guy in row K.
It's a used wicket though, and we have a weak middle order. Plus, Sussex's strength is their bowling. I'm slightly concerned. One of the top three needs to make a 100, probably.
Yeah, I'm not surprised by this. Used wicket, ball keeping low. 250 is looking tough to chase indeed. Poor fielding is costly us very badly.
FFS Weatherley, your job was to tick over the strike and stay with Amla not pull a short one straight down the fielders throat...
Especially when one-day cricket is easily Alsop's best format. Fine, if we'd gone with the extra batter rather than Taylor, then Joe playing would have made some sense - because he'd have had to be our fifth bowler. But we did selected Taylor.
Good first over against Wells. I imagine him and Rawlins will share those final 10 overs. Pretty vital that we score big in them; might even need something in the region of 70 runs from those 10.
That is probably that. Got three guys who are all capable of giving Amla company. But the RR is basically 6 an over now, and scoring is difficult.
Doesn't bother me if it's Taylor or McManus. Too high for both of them. We had no limited overs middle order last year, and we don't again this year.
Nice six from Lewis, he has shown that he can score quick runs when he hits a purple patch in the past.
